... what a brilliant place. Truly Italian and Tuscany. Quiet, and sooo lovely. We stayed there for one week, and used it as a base for visiting the whole region. Family run, and very cozy. Restaurant is brilliant and the kitchen obviously knows what they are doing. Staff is nice and VERY service minded.

Wonderful service!
Wonderful food!
Wonderful views!
What more can you ask for? (Could be less mosquitoes, but as long as you apply mosquito repellant you'll be fine!)
Do go here!

We stayed with family and friends at this Fortezza. From the moment we arrived all of us got the homy feeling. Nothing we asked was impossible! Lucca, Sandra and Silvia. All of them gave us the warm Tuscan welcome and wonderful time. The food at the restaurant was exactly what we expected. Truly Italian. Fresh linguini with truffle, linguini with ragu, la Fiorentina grilled to perfection. Accompanied by a decent wine from a local small producer. Higly recommended for a good family time.

As we were staying at the hotel, we decided to try the restaurant too. The appetiser "Il Pozzo" had a variety of cold and a warm "tapas". Very nice, perhaps a bit much so we were glad we had not ordered primi. The main course we had tuna steak (my wife) and fillet (me). Both perfectly cooked! The red house wine was good in combination with the dishes.
We had dinner outside, at the end the bugs were a bit too much, but the view from the terrace was nice anyway.
