We ate at Fe whilst visiting fabulous Puglia for the first time.
Upon arrival our wonderful maitre d’. a young but perfectly charming and polite young man, made sure our evening and our meal was excellent.
I am a fairly light eater and had been tucking in to hearty and honest
Puglian food for a week, so we opted for a la carte. The menu was interesting and intriguing and our ‘charming’ chef patron came to our table to explain each dish. So we chose our starter and main and before these dishes arrived , an array of ‘6 amuse bouches’ with a glass of gorgeous white wine was delivered.
At this stage I should say that the surroundings were wonderful. We were in a semi private room in a beautiful restored trulli and each time we were served, the food arrived in a sort of seamless slightly theatrical way as the server glided through the arch way like a magician with a trick to perform.
Each course was wonderful and beautifully presented, and for me perfectly judged in portion size. The plates were all interesting and individually tailored to the dish, all adding to the enjoyment.
The wines were delicious, the desserts were sublime and the post desserts a tasty surprise.
Chef came out of the kitchen to bid us farewell which was a lovely final touch.
Please visit Fe if you are in lovely Puglia. Michelin quality food at a more acceptable price. Well done chef and your lovely staff.
