Bellisima! This place is a model for xeriscaping

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 16 Sept 2019
Really everything about this place is top notch. We were there on a weekend so I can’t say whether construction noisie is an issue (red crane across the street) but for sure as I write this review at 11am Monday all I hear are birds and wind. Vito how do you do it? All of the different garden areas are soooo beautiful and well maintained, each bed on drip systems. Also some really cool design elements (series of pergola arches, interlocking herb beds, vines trained up chain links etc). I probably sat for three hours each day on the steps outside our room just soaking it all in. We left the grounds at sunset each night to explore for an hour on foot. Note: you should expect to encounter numerous dogs but they are all in cages/pens or tied up so pose no risk to pedestrians. small dogs yapping as you pass by, which initially made me hesitate. The area seems mostly residential, pensioners, families with kids/swing sets, farming. Staff will help you set up dinner reservations in town, eat at U’Curdenn a restaurant that specializes in Puglia cuisine. How every I cannot reccomend Bina, which is often suggested but touristy and overpriced.

We stayed for 2 nights in the junior suite with its own private terrace and pool view. We arrived at 3 and were met by two lovely staff. We were given a tour of the whole property while our bags were taken to our room. Everything was explained to us via google translate! I felt as if we’d landed in paradise- the grounds are so fragrant, aromatic and well thought out. We were introduced to the owner Tanya Missoni (yes of the famous design house!). Our room was absolutely stunning - full of elegant furnishing. The bed soo comfortable too. Luciana was amazing; she was so kind and helpful. There is no bar, but we found that she would just appear when we fancied a cold glass of wine or beer. She even offered us homemade focaccia. Even though there were other guests we only saw them at breakfast so it felt like we had the whole hotel to ourselves!
Breakfast was lovely too and served by the very smiley Claudia.
You definitely need a car to get to the beautiful Locorotondo, but on our second night as my husband didn’t want to drive, Luciana took us and picked us up! Thank you Luciana.
If you fancy a place to recharge your batteries then this is for you!

We were in tenuta del Lauro for a couple of days. The garden and swimming pool are amazing. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. It is a special experience to spend the night in a trullo.

We felt very welcome by the lovely host and her staff. They walked the extra mile to make us feel happy. Breakfast was to good to be true.

If we are in the neighbourhood we will surely go back there.

My mother and I stayed in one of the 4 (?) Trulli guest rooms for 3 nights in May. Even before we arrived, Luciana gave my mom her cell phone for WhatsApp should we need anything. This is considered a “guest house” so it is an intimate but beautiful place to stay to explore the Puglia area especially Locorotondo, Alberobello, Martina Franca, etc. The Trulli houses (rooms) are hundreds of years old but restored and decorated by the designer Missoni. The grounds are just beautiful and peaceful. The pool area is so inviting (we had too many trips planned to enjoy!). Every morning Rosanna and Claudia would provide a generous continental “plus” breakfast, actually going into the garden for fresh ingredients. Her focaccia and omelette were delicious and made each morning. Pastries were abundant and there was always cheese, cold cuts, tea, coffee, cappuccino, fresh fruit, etc! And they were so nice! The dining table is set for 8 but you can also sit outside. There is no bar or restaurant but we got food and wine in Locorotondo and sat in the beautiful glass enclosed common space, which was lovely. This is a peaceful, beautiful place to come home to after exploring.

This space is magical. You could spend your entire vacation here although the town of Locorotondo is very nice and worth exploring. Very relaxing, lovely staff, fabulous space. The breakfasts were amazing which was such a difference from the normal sweet roll served the majority of places in Italy. Your private space as well as the shared space were just beautiful. The beds could be longer. My husband is 6' and we figured out he needed to sleep on a diagonal so his feet wouldn't hang off.

A fantastic place!
We loved it.
We absolutely fell in love with this resort. It feels like entering the private home of the Missoni family, every detail is thought. It is very private and yet close to Alberobello, Locorotondo and everywhere. Great breakfast and staff that has pampered us from the beginning to the end. We absolutely loved it, and now we decided to come back and organize a family long weekend in this paradise.
An absolute must!
