Just spent an amazing holiday here with my husband and two boys aged 10 and 12. You get exactly what is advertised and then some. No idea what some of the negative comments are about...perhaps more research before a holiday is needed! The chalet was great, no traditional oven, but I knew that in advance so no problem, I catered around it. Good size fridge and freezer...hob 4 rings fab...micro fab...broke one day but immediately replaced. One tiny criticism...could do with a light above the hob. Plenty of crockery, cutlery ext. The bath was a bonus, expected just a shower. Lots of hot water with a great shower. Reception....brilliant staff, really helpful and friendly. Pool....Great extra, ok so you're not gonna train for the Olympics their but my boys had a great time and made loads of new French friends. The sauna...excellent to relax in. The sun terrace...Great to relax and get some sun but why anyone would go 4500 feet up a mountain purely to sunbathe is beyond me! Added bonus..pool and table tennis. The resort...perfect! A small supermarket that is surprisingly well stocked, fresh bread and croissants (also at patisserie) plus fresh roasts on some days. Excellent restaurants and bars. A great tourist info centre. Great chairlift up for an exciting cycle down...or I'm sure walk. Only open a couple of days a week but not surprising as its the quiet season...other lifts in the area compliment so always plenty to do :) Further afield...ok it's 10 miles downhill to Chambery...plenty of choice of shops there...Carrefour has everything...take it in turns to cycle and drive :) Further afield the area is great...cycle from chalet all downhill and get the bus back in a purpose built bus for 7 Euro...take a train to Geneva by train 45 Euro for us all. All in all...a great area, a brilliant resort and fabulous accommodation. Can't wait to see everyone at Les Chalets De Berger next year :)

The Chalet we had was an 8 berth and enough space and storage and had a nice view over the resort. A long way up the mountain so get your supplies from supermarket before you check in first. Staff were very friendly but they charge €40 per week for linen and towels...bring your own. 2 weeks too long to stay 1 week is enough unless you are mad about mountain bike, walking, or of course skiing in winter. The resort appears tired weeds everywhere but I'm sure looks lovely in winter during their peak season. Not much to do in evenings. It's not the resort for anyone wanting sunbathe all day but would suit groups wanting to enjoy the outdoors. It's a lot like the lake, district the views are amazing!!!!

We spent a week at Les Chalets du Berger and we had a great time. Nice pool for children though a little bit small for adults. Nice spot to visit Annecy and its lake, Chambery and Aix les Bains. People at reception and the resort are very freindly. Our 8 peple chalet had a nice view on the resort and the mountain. I recommand it

Don't even think about staying here. We booked for two weeks and left after three days! It's like it was never finished being built and is far too crammed in. The chalets are generally a bit run down and have not been cared for. Everything apart from the rent is extra: sheets (which don't fit the duvets or pillows), tv and elec are all added on and you are very far up the mountain when you want to see anywhere else.

We had an enjoyable two weeks here as a family in July 15. Great deal on the accommodation which was a spacious 3 bedroom chalet. Site staff friendly, helpful and all speak good English. Only issue was lack of a conventional oven/grill - only a microwave - but not a show stopper. Kids aged 12, 14 and 15 used the pool and had no complaints.Free WiFi in site reception sluggish - kids preferred to walking down to tourist info office in village which has bars, restaurants and a small Sherpa supermarket. The grown ups loved the tranquillity but there wasn't a huge amount of stuff to do for the kids beyond walking etc. Ours love reading and their video games so we're happy to chill out in between trips to tree climbing/zip wires, Lac Annecy etc. You're approx 1500m up the mountain and it takes c. 20/30 mins to get down to either Chambery or Aix Les Bains where there are Carrefours and other larger stores etc. Finally, make sure you take a trip to Le Regard at the top of the mountain - a further 500m up - I won't ruin what you will find up there, but believe me it cannot be missed!!
