Let's start with the positives - we checked in very late, around 2:00am, and the staff on the desk were efficient and friendly. Car parking was in the same building, and whilst had to be paid for (£10 for 24 hours) was safe and convenient.

The rooms were clean-ish, though no shower curtain above one of the bath / showers. Duvets not provided for the single bunk in each room, and we had to go back down to reception for blankets

Not enough towels provided for the number of people staying - another trip to reception. Windows did not open and rooms were very stuffy.

Beds comfortable though, and slept well.

It was pretty cheap (190 euros for two rooms (6 people) for 2 nights), so no complaints about cost. Just a little more care from the hotel, to do the things they should have done in the first place, would have made a lot of difference

Hi there. I recently went to Paris with my wife and mom. We decided not to spend much on accommodation so we booked one room at the Etap in Port de Montreuil. Our first impression of the hotel was good. Its fairly clean on the outside and inside BUT the area it is in is pretty rough. There are always dodgy characters around. Saying that, nobody bothered us but it was a bit scary especially late at night.

We booked in and went up to the room. On the booking they said we would have a double bed and a single bed, perfect! No, this was not the case. We had a double bed and on top of it was a single bunk bed! This was horrible! We had to take the mattress off for my mother to sleep on. The bathroom was tiny but adequate. The room was small, you had about 40cm on either side and 60cm at the foot of the bed so once again, a tiny tiny room.

This was all still ok. That I could live with but the breakfast was a shambles! I entered the dining room, picked up a tray, got myself a bowl, filled it with serial and asked the attendant for a plate, he shrugged his shoulders and said they don't have any plates! WHAT? They just don't serve their breakfast on plates I was told....

Right so now thats pretty silly. I proceeded to the other food......this is a list of what they had:
Baguettes
Stale brioche
Stale brioche with chocolate chips
Marmalade
Chocolate spread
Cream cheese
Yukky pale cheese
Butter
Milk
Coffee
Tee
Plain Yoghurt and one or two other flavours
1 or 2 other jams

That's about it. DON'T book the £4/€5 breakfast. There is nothing that's tasty here. No meat, no croissants and NO PLATES!

I left the Etap pretty dismayed. It was really not what I wanted or expected for €50 per night. Yes it was cheap but there is no excuse for this sad hotel!

Just look for something else. Etap is not worth it.

Room Tip: choose other hotel
