We hiked 2.5 hours to get here from Kufstein, along a fairly even path after the initial ascent into the Kaisertal - past Alpine meadows, waterfalls, wildflowers, through forests, tunnels hewn from rock and ravines and alongside the rocky river. Stunning journey rewarded by one of the most idyllic settings for a Gasthof I've experienced after many years of visiting the area.
Our lunch was delicious - fresh salads & herbs grown on-site; a perfect Schnitzel made from scratch; gammon 'burgers' with homemade buns. Far better than the standard Tyrolean gasthof fare we have got used to. The cakes looked amazing too although we didn't try them - will look forward to that next time. Highly recommended.
