This was our first visit since the restaurant's rebuild a few years ago. Their new look is very upmarket and outside seating area in the sand quite romantic even though it was extremely busy. If you're an impatient diner then Vaima isn't for you but the singer playing a keyboard made for a nice atmosphere while we were waiting. We had had so much fish so far on our holiday that we went for the pork belly and lamb which was a bit overdone and a little disappointing. Wish we'd stuck with the fish as that looked really good on other people's plates. However, the key lime pie IS THE BEST EVER! We'll definitely be back for that, I hope they keep it on the menu.

We were celebrating our anniversary and this place was recommended.

It was superb.

We sat at table 31 out the front of the seating area, metres from the sea, our table in the sand. A full moon was rising over the lagoon. Staff were friendly and attentive. The food was excellent, it was upmarket island fare: beef, seafood, lamb. We chose the mahi-mahi fish followed by a Bailey"s cheesecake.

The wine list is reasonably extensive and NZ wines, from better makers, are around $40.

As a memorable occasion things could not have been better. We enjoyed our meal so much we are going back again.

We had a great dinner here at sunset. Even though the restaurant was almost empty, we were seated at a table far back from the ocean, which seemed strange. The food was good, but don't come here if you are in a hurry, as it takes a long time for them to cook your order. We also ordered take-out pizza while we were there, and it was good as well.

Vaima Restaurant is definitely one of my favourite restaurants in Rarotonga!
The atmosphere is nice and romantic, especially when you sit outside, service helpful and food - simply amazing. Ika Mata would be my choice.
I dined here three times and I will keep coming back.

We went to Vaima to try their Ika Mata which had come highly recommended, it was amazing and the seafood curry we had was one of the best we have ever had.
