Something Different

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 5 May 2023
While the place could use some serious updating and TLC, it had a an interesting classic thriller vibe to it. We were one of three occupied rooms the night we stayed, and the fog rolled in extra heavy making for an almost portentous air. It's an old style motor inn sitting at the highest point of a ridge, meaning spectacular views, I guess, when the clouds clear up (they didn't). The room was comfortable enough and very clean with good beds, flat screen tv. The bathroom was perfectly functional, but in dire need of updating. Our sun room unfortunately had an odd chemical smell to it, but could be closed off with a sliding door and was a nice touch as additional storage.

We were checked in at the motel's diner (original office looks closed and used for storage) which boasted a large menu and good selection of alcohol for purchase. Dinner there was tasty and made with care.

I'd stay again if I ever come to Lavers Hill. Who doesn't love a place with a few surprises.

A one night stop on the Great Ocean Road. Very comfortable room with enclosed balcony/eating area.
Typical Country Pub. Lovely meals, very friendly staff who will have a laugh with you.
Lots of friendly locals including the 4 legged variety.
Highly recommend after a day along this wonderful road.

We stayed here for 1 night on a cycling holiday along the great ocean road. Staff were very helpful and accomodating when we booked our room over the phone and had our room ready when we arrived.
The room was clean and comfortable, and had great views across a field filled with cows.
My partner loved his electric blanket!
We also had dinner takeaway from the adjoining restaurant, hot tip: the pizzas are excellent. Particularly the supreme!

Although the room appears to be from 1996 it's was very clean and tidy. Comfy bed, good tv and decent shower.

I was staying as I was working in the area and just needed a place to sleep. This was perfect although probably slightly too expensive.

Old and outdated. Cheap fixtures and basic at best. Water came out brown at first and shower is a struggle to maintain temp if someone else is using water. Attached enclosed sunroom is over an old balcony and bare ragged concrete. Toilet was loose. No Wifi offered. Noisy fridge. Well over priced, stayed in heaps better for much less.
