Stopped here for a light supper on a sunny evening. They couldn't have been more welcoming. Wonderful garden and great food. Will definitely come again

We had a two night stay and were made to feel very welcome by Liz and her friendly staff. Our room the Fallow was slightly bigger than the Drake next door and overlooked the garden on two sides. It was very quiet and restful but I wondered if that would be the case when warm and sunny and the patios filled with people enjoying alfresco dining. The room had two armchairs and good reading lights. The kettle for tea and coffee was perched on a shelf in the wardrobe. The bed was very comfortable. The chef offers a tempting array of excellent cooked breakfasts in the dining room. We had a pre-fixe dinner on Sunday night but 3 out of 4 of us were unimpressed by the menu choices and the steak was tough. There are plenty of eating options a short car ride away. We felt well cared for here.

Our first was for Sunday lunch and the food and atmosphere did it - we were hooked! Our second visit was a two night stay and again Liz and her staff pulled out all the stops. Our third visit was for my 65th birthday lunch which included 6 young children. We came away absolutely delighted and can't wait to return. A simply wonderful experience.

We have stayed at The Mill on several occasions, when we have wanted something a 'bit special'. The rooms are very comfortable and we have had some lovely views. This visit was just to the restaurant to celebrate a birthday. As usual, the food was lovely and it is such a beautiful setting. It was a lovely day, so we walked through their gardens. Go through the gate to the secret garden and if you are lucky, like us, you will see a kingfisher. A little on the expensive side, but well worth it.

We are a pretty privately owned restaurant with 7 lovely individually decorated bedrooms, serving gorgeous local or organic food.
