I spent 2 weeks last Christmas at Las Canadas with family and friends. We all had such a wonderful time. The house itself is gorgeous with plenty of space to party. Lots of outdoor things to do too. We went walking and exploring the Alpujarras, lots of bars and restaurants to sample and then came back for cosy nights in by the log fire. Such a tranquil place for a winter stay. Warm sunny days and chilly nights, it felt almost like a log cabin in the Alps! Highly recommend.
If there is any place on earth better for a tranquil holiday I have yet to find it.
I will remember Las Canada's for the rest of my life.
Calming, rustic retreat with wide-ranging mountain views. Such a fantastic place to relax. This is our second stay here, there is everything you need for a comfortable away-from-it all holiday. Lovely swimming pool and breakfast on the terrace each morning taking in the sense and vistas of rural Spain. The village is less than a 5 minute walk and has everything you need, bakers, supermarkets, and cafes serving delicious tapas. Everything is so cheap, it's like you've gone back in time. Sublime!
We enjoyed a wonderful 2 weeks at Las Canadas. Valor and the surrounding countryside are glorious. We found plenty to do and plenty of places to go. The Alpujarras are brilliant, the people so friendly and off the beaten tourist track although there is a little colony of ex-pats in most of the towns. The long unmade road to Las Canadas was a bit of a challenge, but part of the charm. The accommodation itself was great, whimsical and spacious. There always seemed to be a cooling breeze wafting up the valley. The views were tremendous especially on the night of a big thunderstorm when we watched the lightning through open windows. The houset was equipped with everything you could want, even to Ginny arriving with a brand new paella pan on request. And Terry arriving promptly, chainsaw in hand the day after the downpour to clear a fallen tree from the pool. They were great. We went back to another of their properties the following year, Las Enchinillas, mainly because Las Canadas was not available.

This was our second stay at las Canadas and although we really enjoyed ourselves in the property , there was a distinct lack of bars open compared to same time the year before . That said it was not Terry and Ginny's fault but if the bushes surrounding the pool had of been better kept we wouldn't have had so many bugs and wasps ( in my opinion ) and not felt the need to venture out every day . We will be returning next year though as on the whole it was pretty good for me the wife and four young boys and on the last day we found the beach !
