At the outset I should say the operation of this restaurant seems to have reverted back to its parent since we dined here first, and in the process the menu and personnel have changed too. So, my wife and I dined here both in September/early October and again just last week, by which the transfer of operation back to the parent business had taken place. However, it has to be said on all occasions the experience was very satisfactory.

First the experiences of September/early October - in this manifestation the menu was largely made up of tapas style dishes (in size) but of a very high standard and not typical of a traditional Spanish Tapas restaurant/bar, rather innovative cuisine cooked to a very high standard. The service was prompt, courteous, friendly and very satisfactory and if we had anything to quibble about it would probably be the somewhat restricted wine list. It should also be said that the pricing is somewhat higher than the averages for La Herradura but by no means is it excessive or poor value for money - to the contrary all of the meals we had under this management were excellent.

The experience of late October was equally satisfactory (luncheon and dinner) however the business had changed and the menu was more akin to a typical table d'hote but it must be said the food was cooked to a high standard and again was more international in style than typically Spanish. The personnel had also changed (service and kitchen) but the overall experience was equally positive.

In summary this restaurant is well worthwhile including on your list if you are visiting La Herradura.

After coming here last year we really wanted to go back. Six course taster menu sat on the terrace was great. Excellent as always

We were staying at the Hotel La Tartana and ate at the restaurant for three successive nights simply because it was so good. Dining outside on the terrace was delightful and the food is so good it sings. We asked for a couple of special orders of things we particularly liked but which were not on the menu, leaving the style to the chef who obliged magnificently. Marvellously energetic and pleasant service by the Maitre d’ and his staff. Great dining experience in a lovely setting.

This old house-turned-boutique hotel and restaurant is charming, romantic and perfectly located on a hill above Herradura. Dinner in the courtyard is very tasty, though slightly over-designed in some cases - the maxim 'less is more' comes to mind. Service is warm and attentive. BUT....sitting in the fairy-lit courtyard is a very mixed experience: romantic for sure, but marred by the whoosh of cars on the main road flanking two sides of the restaurant. Not a lot of traffic, but the sound of every single car that flashes by is somehow amplified and, for me, really did spoil the experience.

As ever Marks food never fails to impress, they even made our toddler an off menu pasta dish, despite being very busy.

The level of service was 2nd to none and we enjoyed a fabulous lunch out on the terrace.

Will be returning.
