Description: Welcome to The Long Apron The signature restaurant of Montville’s picturesque Spicers Clovelly Estate. The Long Apron is a dining experience that insists on a lengthy stay. Our tasting menu doesn’t change every season but when the time is right. It is an ‘organic menu’ that adjusts to the changes constantly happening around us and highlights the best of our region, seasonal French inspired dishes, which blend classic techniques and the finest local produce with exquisite results. Our A La Carte menu offers a relaxed, fresh and zesty dining experience taking from dishes from the signature degustation. Our enthusiastic kitchen team are continuing to showcase the best of the Sunshine Coast’s stunning produce. We source our produce from our local growers, catchers, farmers and makers, some of which are providing bespoke ingredients for both ‘The Long Apron’ menus. The property’s garden and wild bee hives add to our sustainability commitment and emphasis on fresh and local.

Had a lovely dinner at the Long Apron- every single course was delightful. The chefs were able to cater to dietary requirements without any hassles. The wine suggestions were fantastic. Overall a wonderful evening. Thank you Cyrus and team.

We spoilt ourselves and visited The Long Apron for dinner on our wedding day. The staff were amazing and went above and beyond for us. The food was delectable and cooked to perfection. The chefs are justifiably the best cooks! There is nothing more that I can say other than we will be back for more!

Underwhelming at best. This is definitely one of the most disappointing places to dine along the range. It's not fine dining, it's not five star dining. In any reputable area, known for its food, this place wouldn't last a year.

It’s hard to know where to begin. However with a price tag of $500 per couple and booked months in advance, our expectations were reasonably high going in. Our Christmas Day present to ourselves was lunch at The Long Apron.
Firstly led to an unstable outdoor table which despite being mentioned to the staff, we had to wedge some paper underneath one leg ourselves to stop it from rocking, followed by water served into a glass with a chipped rim which I had to request replacement, to unpolished cutlery and not even a hint of table decor, our hopes were still holding out for an impressive feast.
The starters were tiny which usually might indicate intense flavours but not in this case. The starters were poorly executed and nothing had any real flavour other than pre~preparation.
The front of house staff were abysmal. Most walked around empty handed or continuously topping up water glasses, whilst magically ignoring dirty plates needing clearing. Eye contact was avoided by the staff at all costs meaning we couldn’t even order drinks after the first perfunctory offering.
The main was the the most disappointing, It was two slices of dry turkey and ham. On the side were duck fat potatoes - beautiful kiphler potatoes which sadly were boiled and waved over duck fat and a dry salad of mixed leaves with no discernible dressing that we could find, and a watery Demi glaze.
Dessert was vile with a boiled pudding or bitter gluggy choc tart with nothing accompanying to cut through the texture. The pastry base was dry and pre-packaged.
Overall The Long Apron served a miserable, poor quality meal with paltry servings. The culinary fundamentals of colour, texture and flavour were all missing from the plate.
This was a dining experience we might have expected at an RSL. We were highly disappointed and felt our Christmas day had been hosted by miserly Scrooge rather than a five star hospitality venue.
The Long Apron is obviously resting on its reputation laurels. The previous week, we dined at Nel in Sydney. The same cost for an 11 course degustation which was extraordinary and exceptional service. There is still hope for the hospitality industry for professionals who give a damn!
