We had a very enjoyable week at this holiday rental.
The service was very helpful and friendly.
We felt very welcomed from the start and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The view was amazing, every day we enjoyed looking out onto beautiful Carbis Bay.
The bed was super comfortable with a brand new memory foam mattress and we slept very well.. The rooms were well heated and we were warm.
We were able to park in the road outside the property which was very convenient.
The location was perfect.. Only a 20 minute stroll along the beautiful coastal path into St. Ives which we loved... There are so many things to do in St.Ives and interesting shops, cafes and restaurants.
Close to the property we had a major supermarket for supplies and there were pubs within walking distance around Carbis Bay..
The week passed by too quickly and we were sad to leave..
We hope to return again, maybe in the summer..

We had a very relaxing stay in Carbis bay. The apartment is well located for the beach, coast path and train station. The apartment is a little dated and the double room bed, located under the eaves, was too short for my 6' 2" partner so we had to sleep in the singles in the living area. However, the view over St Ives Bay from the apartment is absolutely stunning and made the trip worthwhile. The owner, David, was also very friendly and helpful. All in all, we enjoyed a very relaxing holiday.

“Great location with stunning sea views”

I spent a week at the”Chywartha house” in May together with a friend. The self catering flat is situated on the top floor of a villa in Carbis Bay some 2 km from the town of St Ives. The flat is small with a separate double bedroom, a lounge room with dining table for four, two sitting chairs and two small beds for children. There is a kitchenette and a bathroom with a shower. You have everything you need in the flat including Wi-Fi for a small fee.
The villa itself and the side of the garden facing the street looks a bit neglected and the narrow outdoor stair up to the flat has seen better days. You have to put up with some odd things like buying old five shilling coins from the host to use in an ancient electricity meter. Carbis Bay Hotel just below arrange weddings with sometimes loud music and fireworks, be prepared for a noisy evening if you are unlucky.
But apart from that I loved this place! It has large windows that literally go from floor to ceiling and the views are breathtaking! The sea, the beach, the Cornish palm trees, Godrevy Island with its lighthouse, the hills, the village with the little train passing now and then below. You could spend a lifetime just looking out the windows. When the night falls the lighthouse and beacons start to flash and the moon rises… The only sound you hear is the endless crashing of the waves and at daytime the birds are singing. The host David is the most kind and considerate man you can imagine. He knocked on the door every evening just to see that everything was all right and to have a little chat. There is a lovely walk to St Ives along the sea, but the hills are steep so you have to be quite fit. St Ives has everything for a nice holiday, interesting history, museums, galleries, nice restaurants and beautiful beaches. It is great for walking with many public foot paths to choose from.
I was not very lucky with the weather, and unfortunately a few days were as cold as Cornwall winter. But never mind, I got a glimpse of the paradise this place is in bright weather. I can strongly recommend Chywartha for an excellent stay in the most beautiful of places and it is also very good value for money. I definitely want to return when possible.
