The food at this restaurant was better than average, and the service was quite good, and the live music was enjoyable, but we were surprised when we received our bill. Unlike most restaurants, the tax ("IVA") is separated out from the base price of each item and you get a combined total on your bill. But even more unusually, a tip is automatically added on to your bill...and at a hefty 20%! We went to the desk and asked for a bill without the tip added in, saying that we would determine our own tip. The bill was recalculated and given to us without the addition of a tip. We left the tip that we thought the service deserved (generous, but not 20%!).

This was going to be our farewell dinner after two weeks in Mexico. We followed the advice of Tripadvisor and were in for quite a disappointment. My wife's chicken was ok, but the sirloin steak I had at 205 pesos was the toughest and most insipid piece of meat I had in these two weeks. Not a good experience!

If you're looking for ambience and locals, this is it. The food is simple- think bocaditos or appetizers instead of a heavy meal, or dessert! the drinks are plentiful- you can choose from many kinds of tequila, or a bucket of beer on ice. On weekends there is live music, folk music. It's place that locals like to go for dates, you'll see young couples or birthday parties. There are several different rooms, so you can pick your spot, whether you want to be private or social. It's the kind of place that after a while everyone feels like your friend. And the love story behind the place is so sweet- what else would you expect from the "house of miracles"?

We ate at the La Casa de los Milagros because of the review in our Lonely Planet book and we weren't disappointed. The restaurant is centrally located, only a few blocks from our hotel. It is a beautiful old building and has a wonderful ambience. Food was really good as were the drinks. Certainly a place you could visit more than once.

this as being an old house it provides a rich and old fashioned atmosphere it was a great place to hang out with friends to have drinks or coffee along with dinner usually opening hours were late , in front of it there was a big and spacious parking lot , my last visit was not good due to the quality of food, it was not bad but not the level it used to be
