Ok location, but you have to have a car. Ok accommodation but nothing super special. We had a good time, and always enjoy our stays in the Hunter, but feels there are better places to stay, closer to everything and more friendly in the same price range. In this occasion everything else was full so it was ok, but would not be my first choice.

The person behind the counter was lovely.

We stayed in the Loft. It was clean and everything was nice. I really liked the light and the view. However, the bathroom (toilet & shower) are in the same room as where you are sleeping. I guess the name 'loft' implies this, but at least a wall that reached the ceiling would have been good. If you're staying here by yourself, then it's fine - but not when you're sharing with someone (things went to a whole new level with my partner).

The courtesy buses from local pubs / restaurants will take you from here - so there was no worries getting home. You will need a bus to get around to the wineries, but there aren't many places on the Hunter Valley where you could get to more than one winery in walking distance anyways.

A good place to rest your head if you have other things outside of the hotel planned.

As friendly as staff were on arrival
The first impressions of the buildings were not good. Place looked like a storage area but I think (hope) that had something to do with an event coming up
On inspection of units they are in need of a makeover
Beautiful outlook but verandah is old and needs replacing, fly screen doors kept falling off
Bathroom very dirty

It's in lovedale side so getting around via hire bus is only option if you are drinking

The website for this resort and the brochure, which was on the coffee table, spoke of its Asian cuisine restaurant, pool and spa along with other on site activities available, while enjoying the amazing view.

Aside from the view, which was amazing, everything else was underwhelming.

The accommodation needs a major upgrade. The carpets could do with a with a vacuum followed by a steam clean, as it was extremely dirty.

The couches could also do with a vacuum, while the throw pillows need to be thrown away and replaced with new ones.

On the upside, the bed sheets were clean, however didn't fully cover the bed.

Regular pest control needs to be undertaken with massive wasps nest by the front door of our villa and loads of ants on the balcony railing.

Reception was closed the entire time we were there. The swimming pool has seen better days, along with the other amenities on site.

This place has lots of potential, if given the TLC that greatly needs.

Did not hear or see from anyone. Text msg sent to find the key to our cabin. So poorly looked after and doesn't look anything like the photos. Another guest had booked the 'loft' but their keys had on it Cabin 8...They were unable to get in. Several phone calls and text msgs were sent to the staff (?) but not 1 call or msg back. Thank god they were able to eventually get into their correct cabin. The retreat is run down, timbers need repairing, lawns need maintaining and would not recommend it....And as for croissants, well they must still be baking ours...Like I said, we didn't see anyone that was taking care of the place, the reception was closed all weekend and we just left the key were we picked it up from...Could have stayed a week they probably wouldn't have even known:)
