We have eaten here several times and have always enjoyed great food and service. The number of "locals" who dine here is a great testament to the outstanding quality of this restaurant. Great choice in Pozos!

Our recent stay at the hotel was made even more pleasant by having such a great restaurant outside the door of our room. It is obvious that the hospitable manager, James, has trained his staff well. Service is attentive, prompt, professional and unobtrusive. The servers seemed to anticipate our needs and were efficient at meeting them. Drinks arrive promptly. Blue corn totopos and tasty salsas are brought to the table immediately. We shared a tasty Caesar salad and guacamole that didn't require any altering of seasoning. My salmon with Cajun spices was delicious, accompanied by a mixture of onions, calabacitas, peppers and cheese. My friend's arrachera wasn't quite as tender as some he's had but the accompanying enmolada was delicious. The homemade not-too-sweet carrot cake is worth a trip for it alone. We ordered it with vanilla ice cream and it arrived with a scoop of whipped cream as well with freshly grated carrot garnish. Breakfast that is included in the room rate was a pleasure. Coffee arrived promptly along with a basket of hot from the oven banana mini-muffins. There were other options but we think we chose the right one. Eggs were prepared to order and accompanied by extremely flavorful refried beans. Coffee was generously refilled without being prompted. Seating can be in the open patio, the dark, cozy bar, which would be so comfortable on a cool day or in another enclosed dining area or in a pretty garden patio-like setting. The outdoor spaces have a variety of birds in large cages as well as luxurious plantings. Although there were some really large groups being served our service was not compromised. It is obvious that the proprietor loves his job and his employees take theirs seriously and professionally and are happy working here. We got to peek into the kitchen later at night through a window on the street when the employees had gone home and it was spotless and well-organized....a good start to preparing good food. Whether staying at the Posada or not, this is definitely the best place to eat in town.

We arrived for a late lunch a smiling gentleman received us, it is a beautiful place to visit, old hacienda with lots of improvements....he told us our waiter would wait on us soon, it took several minutes for the waitress to notice we were waiting, we ordered our drinks and a platter with a variety of entries( nachos with a cheese dip, nacho tortilla with beans and chicken, tlacoyos, guacamole) well served, flavor not as good as we thought....it was a mixture of Mexican flavors with the contrast of the nacho dip that was good but more into the American food flavor, coffee was not great and cake... well i expected more "wacky" flavor as described....the waitress has a lot to learn, she only attend our table twice to bring the food, but when we asked for the check she brought it in a blink.....I wish the best and we'll come back next time waiting for a better experience.
