Absolutely loved our 4 night stay at Finlaystone Barns. The owners were very helpful and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. The barns were spacious, set out to a high standard and in my eyes a perfect hideaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. But still close enough if you wanted to venture into Glasgow.
The Estate Tearoom and shop are lovely and I would definitely recommend a wander round the gardens the flowers were beautiful. Then a bowl of soup and a sandwich.
The grounds of the estate were magical, so many areas to wander into, the scout walks were great fun for adults and kids who will have a real adventure finding all the Wooden forts and play areas. The waterfalls are stunning and the silence of the estate after dark soul warming. Loved venturing out at sunset and just listening to the sounds of the water and the birds. Even the squirrels, graced us with their presence scuttling around the grounds.
Port Glasgow is just 5 minutes away which had lots of different shops and parks right on the waterfront.
Only thing I would say is there is no private outside area for tenants to sit during the day which would have been nice especially as the sun was shining.
Highly recommend Finlaystone Barns .. We will definitely be staying there again.
Having just returned from a week staying in the newly fitted out family barn sleeping 6, I have to let other people know just how good this place this. Which, was absolutely superb.
Having been the first guests to stay in this barn we were a little apprehensive about what to expect, but what can I say it exceeded our expectations above and beyond.
This barn is finished to an extremely high standard, with all brand new appliances, from a Nespresso machine, washer dryer, fully fitted kitchen, very large wet room, WiFi right through to a smart tv.
The owners and all the staff in the shop and estate were all very friendly and could not do enough to help.
We would have no hesitation in recommending finlaystone barns, and hope to return at another time.
It was a super friendly place, clean and nice surroundings.
The couple who have the barn is very pleasent and have a super friendly dog. Our dog became friends with theirs and they played very well together.
the lodge makes a perfect retreat for either a short weekend break (as we did), but is big enough to sustain a week long break without feeling cramped; there is plenty of space to move around. Good kitchen facilities, with a full size fridge and freezer. Very easy access back into Glasgow, or up to Loch Lomond and also offers lovely walking around the estate. The garden café was an unexpected bonus - great cakes and coffee! Really friendly team in the information centre
Ideal accomadation for our week long stay. Everything as expected, well equipped & spotlessly clean. The estate is lovely especially at this time of year, the daffodil's are to be admired. A great Base from which to tour the area.
