Really cosy with a family feel, very helpful staff but the location is a bit off. Locate a 20 min walk from town, you either have to walk or taxi after the shuttle bus stops at 8.30pm.
The staff are helpful and when they can give lifts into town (outside of the morning run to the lifts).

Its a nice place to stay for smaller groups or couples wanting to socialise, but if i was to come back in a group of 5 I would rent an apartment in the heart of town.

Overall a great place and a great time was had.

Finally got around a review for you guy s at Ramat --- had the BEST time here.... loved the warm welcome, lifts into town and the slopes pretty much whenever required, and the pool was great -.... not to mention the bar, and icicles and fresh pow outside the window to have with Baileys.... :)

All the staff are FAB! Were very happy to help and also leant us kit - when ours got damaged and leaked!!

Room was very warm .........too hot if not careful! .......... oh and the Thai massages on offer were fantastic -- Jodi and I had a great time and would recommend this place to all..

Just saving up to get back there!!

Room tip: I'm sure they're all good!

We stayed for 4 nights, rooms are spacious and bathrooms fine too. The staff here are great and extremely helpful. DVD player in room was awesome! Breakfast not so special, furntiture not really my style. But otherwise great value for Niseko!
Cooking yourself is not such a great idea as the "supermarkets" in Niseko are quite limited in selection.

Yes we are indeed the kind of picky spoiled Swiss who sniff at the quality of ski resorts, and we hardly ever return to the same place for vacation twice. But ever since we discovered the amazing powder paradise Niseko, we return there every year, and since ski season 2008/09 we are regulars at the Ramat Niseko (when they first opened).
Alan, Sue and Gary make you feel like family. Everything you need is arranged by them: Airport transfer, ski rentals, lift passes and any extra requests. Even if there is a shuttle bus stop very close to the lodge, they will make sure to drive you to the ski lifts in the morning, to town for onsen or dinner in the evening, to the ski rental place, supermarket and even to the doctor's if you need it.
They own 2 attached lodges, the Snowgum lodge and Ramat Niseko. In the Ramat, there is a common area with a pool table, TV and a bar, where the owners arrange welcome drinks on the houses every Monday evening, so the guests can get to know each other. There are plenty of DVDs and wireless internet to entertain you in the evenings. Recently they even offer Thai massage to release your muscles after a long day in the powder.
If there is a paradise, we would imagine it must be very close to what Niseko is. Apart from the amazing powder snow, there are plenty of restaurants with excellent food, and many places with hot spring baths. This place is Heaven on Earth, and the Ramat Niseko contributes significantly to this ultimate powder experience.

Me and 2 friends stayed at Ramat Niseko from 29 dec 2010 to 1 Jan 2011. The tripple room was perfect for us. 3 single beds. carpet is clean as new. good privacy, bathroom and wardrobe are separated. The living room and dining room upstair make us feel cozy at home. We feel safe eventhough the room was never lock ! Although the lodge is not walking to the ski field, Gary was wonderful , he send us to ski Field every morning, and drive us to ski rental shop and return the ski gear too, transport has never been an issue, the free shuttle run from 8 am to 9pm, if you miss the free shuttle, taxi is only 560 yen. Not a problem at all ! I generally dont quite like guest house style accommodation, but Ramat Niseko is roomy and superb, so comfortable !. you feel at home (lots of dvd to choose from, ) yet total freedom. Alan the owner has been a great host , he made all the arrangement for us, airport bus, ski passes, ski lesson. and how can i not mention Sue, the lady host. she makes you feel so much welcome !
Tired from skiing ?dont worry he told us he will soon start a Thai massage service next week !
By the way if you stay at Ramat, you must eat at Izakaya Sakae, 5 mins walk from Ramat, a Japanese traditional style and family run restaurent. We had a memorable new year's eve dinner there.
and of course most importantly, skiing experience in Niseko is fantastic . I miss Niseko already !!
