Comfortable, modern chalet on acres of space, shared with 2 other chalets.
Private and secure location - behind electronic gates.
Well kept and maintained grounds, with pretty flower beds around chalet.
Well serviced (professional cleaners etc.) and helpful and friendly owners who live on site.
Hassocks is a pretty (if slightly unremarkable) Sussex village that's fairly typical of the area, but with good amenities - good shops and decent public park.
It's a modern chalet build - so lots of wood & metal - and if its hot it can be a little uncomfortable. To counter this, the chalet is well provisioned with plenty of doors/windows that open in a secure way, as well as a electric cooler system in the bedrooms (which emulates the breeze from an open window).
I stayed at Maple Lodge for four nights in late November, not as a holiday but to break a little writers block. It worked like a charm. I found a very high quality, eco-friendly, well-appointed lodge waiting for me. There was a warm and friendly reception, lovely welcome basket, comfortable bed, gorgeous wood burner and a magical view of Ditchling Beacon. I saw the warnings about possible noise for the football pitch but it was very quiet indeed. Highly recommend Maple Lodge if you are looking to connect with the beauty and mystery of our Southern Downs from a luxurious vantage point.
