“The best rental we have had ....so far !”
Reviewed 31 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

This is an excellent property - spacious and comfortable, at least as well equipped as home, and in a brilliant location. The web site doesn't do this well looked after property justice really - the rooms and furnishing are extremely well proportioned and appointed, and everything works ! We managed 12 adults and 3 little ones at one point during our stay, and the house easily absorbed everyone in comfort.
It has lovely outside space to front and back too, with a barbie grill and a great deck at the back, and a breakfast bench in the front garden about 5 or 6 metres from the Loch shore - perfect for sunny morning bird spotting and cat tickling !
The owners were friendly and helpful, and although an expensive property due its size, I think it represents very good value.
Dornie is a lovely little village, well situated for local wanderings, and a great launch pad for expeditions to Skye, Applecross, and beyond.
Highly recommended.

Liked best: The sunsets across the lock from the upper windows - priceless !
Liked least: The Back steps up to the deck proved impossible for my elderly relatives - a very minor gripe.

“Fantastic place to stay especially for a large group”
Reviewed 13 January 2016 for a stay in December 2015

We stayed in the red house for New Year and had a brilliant stay. There were 11 adults, 1 toddler and dogs but the house was plenty spacious for us all. Unlike most places for large groups there was plenty of space in the Kitchen to cook, enough utensils, a variety of large pots/pans, storage space and laundry facilities. The lounge and dining area were also plenty big enough for us all, and all bedrooms were a good size.

The location was superb for exploring the local Munroes, Isle of Skye plus some great coastal/buggy walks. There really was something for us all.

Definitely recommend staying here!

My husband and I rented the Red House the week we were married at the Eilean Donan Castle. We stayed with a handful of our friends and found the house to be clean, comfortable, and roomy enough for the ten adults (four couples and two solitary gentlemen). The castle was a huge draw for us and we were thrilled that there's a great view of it from the front garden and it's a mere 3 minute walk from the house. A fantastic pub, The Clachan, is located @ 60 feet from the front door and the village itself is a great home base for hillwalking or exploring Skye and the Highlands. We had an amazing time here and can't wait to return. Enjoying a cup of tea on the picnic table in the front garden is the perfect way to begin a morning. The location and value of this place can't be beat - highly recommend!
