Hotel is nice enough. The staff is generally friendly and accommodating. Good restaurant with a fine lunch buffet. They run a free shuttle bus into Narita, and mall. There's a nice, but small workout facility, tennis courts, chipping golf green, large indoor and outdoor swimming pools.

The rooms and common areas are always very clean.

The bad part is most of the rooms are tiny, and hot. The air conditioning does not seem to cool the rooms down in the summer. The beds are pretty small (though it is Japan).

The Sports bar stops serving food early, and closes fairly early. The location is not good with few eateries near by.

In the summer there are a number of airline crews that will bring their families over and it can strain the facilities.

Overall it is a well run - good, but not a great hotel.

Room Tip: Request a high room in the tower section.

I stayed here last year for a night, late July 2010. My brief stay was made memorable by the great service and accommodation I've received during my stay.

PROS: Friendly staff, delicious breakfast buffet, a nice pool, clean rooms, near Narita airport.

CONS: Free internet connection is only available in the lobby.

General Manager should be given a HUGE bonus this month! Immediately follow the 8.9 earthquake, he came outside and spoke to us, assured us and even made us laugh. He and his staff provided us with slippers [for those who ran outside without shoes], towels/blankets to keep warm, water bottles, generator/heater to keep warm. He used the shuttle buses [used to transport Flight Crews to the airport] as a place to stay safe and warm while we waited to go back inside [2 1/2 hours after the initial quake]. He provided us with timely updates. He did not allow his staff or anyone else to go back inside until it was safe. The hotel building itself was not damaged at all, although the shaking was very strong and lasted a very long time [approx. 2 minutes] Anywhere else in the world and the building would have collapes. The construction of this building is exemplary ~ other earthquake prone countries should take note!

We weren't exactly thrilled at the prospect of an overnight stop at the Radisson Narita after a missed standby flight to Bangkok, but got a great last minute rate and hopped on the free airport shuttle in search of a good night's sleep. The trip took about 30 minutes and not the 15 minutes advertised, mainly because it takes around 15 minutes just to get out of the airport. The shuttle is comfortable and runs very frequently. There is also a free bus into Narita which we took to explore the town and see the temple. It is also possible to take a bus to Tokyo, though we went to the airport and took the train instead. The rooms at the hotel are very comfortable and the internet is free. There is a fantastic fitness center with state-of-the-art treadmills and other decent machines, weights, free weights, and more. For a fee there is an indoor pool and sauna. I believe there are even tennis courts though it was winter and we didn't explore those. The extensive breakfast buffet, if not included, is very expensive but delicious, with made-to-order omelets as well as more traditional Japanese fare (strangely, including soft serve ice cream, an interesting breakfast choice). The lobby area is a very comfortable, nice place to hang out in after checkout or while waiting for a shuttle. Overall this was a great experience and a much cheaper alternative to staying in Tokyo.

The Radisson Hotel Narita is not a bad place to stay if you need to be close to the airport, but otherwise it is pretty soulless and standard hotel.

The first thing to note is that the hotel is on the outskirts of Narita, not in the airport complex, so it takes a little longer to get to on the shuttle bus than you might expect – at least 20 minutes.

The good thing about being a bit further away from the airport is that the hotel is set in some nice grounds, so you can get outside and go for a walk if you want.

The gripes are that they charge extra for using the pool (which seems odd) and the bar is ridiculously over-priced, even for Japan. Some of the staff were a bit rude, but it didn’t look like the most enjoyable place to work either.

Otherwise, the hotel is clean and comfortable and if you book online in advance then the rates are exceedingly good. It is easy to spend more on dinner and a drink than the room will cost you.

Overall, very good value for money but nothing particularly special. I wouldn’t spend more than one night here.
