We stayed for two nights at Tsumagoi. The rooms in the North Wing, though a little dated, are clean and spacious, and we could see Mt Fuji from our room on a clear day.

As our stay was during the weekday, the resort was quite quiet. We did not make use of the sports facilities as they were rather pricey (1200 yen for adult use of indoor pool), but rather, enjoyed long walks around the vast grounds of the resort. There was still a bit of autumn foliage to enjoy, and the best part of all, it was serene. It was as if we were the only ones in the resort !

Buffet breakfast/dinner : I must admit that I was a little disappointed with the buffet as almost every review that I read had nothing but the highest praises for the buffet. I found the buffet decent but not fantastic. I wonder if it was because there were not many people staying at the hotel and it did not justify an overly huge spread. Some of the more costly items (e.g., toro sashimi) were only available for one round, i.e., they are not replaced after the first round.

Our accommodation comes free access to the Winter light-up area, which was a nice bonus.

Room Tip: North Wing hotel is connected to the connected to the hotel lobby and buffet terrace. If you are willing to pay for a room that faces the light-up, you can even enjoy the light-up from your room.

I went to this event with my family
because my 5-year-son wanted to watch it.

Tsumagoi is a resort facilities run by Japanese music manufacturer YAMAHA.
My first impression is that the site for this electric spectaculars is not big.

You can enjoy the blinking of the LED light to the music.
Especialy I can enjoy the mount Fuji decoration.
My kids said they had fun to come here.

But it seems to me that 1200 yen for entry ticket is a little bit costly even it's including 500 yen coupon.

Well, as one of the few English language reviewers on this hotel, let me start out by saying I have stayed here about 10 times in the past 6 years, in all cases for archery events. A couple of things- this is a Yamaha corporation resort and it was built in the heyday of the Bubble economy. That means a few of the facilities, while impecabbly clean and well maintained, are showing a bit of age. The rooms are all air conditioned, I have mostly stayed in the South Wing (down hill from the SMC) but the main hotel is actually the North Wing, and it's more like a normal hotel than the South Wing. The baths are typically Japanese, modular with a decent sized tub and all the amenities. beds are a little bigger and a little softer than you might find in a typical Tokyo business class hotel. As the Japanese reviewers noted, the buffet (Viking) is excellent- if you like Japanese food. That's the other caveat- this place is geared entirely for Nihonjin, there are very few signs and NO paperwork in English. The staff is polite and friendly, but be prepared to communicate in Japanese as much as you can.
