What a groovy boutique-style hotel in the middle of the Black Forest! Absolutely gorgeous decor and our room was very cool, complete with rainbow chandelier, large porthole-style windows looking out into the forest and multicoloured gnomes. The bed and pillows weren't the comfiest, but the room was spotless and spacious and there was great lighting. The bathroom had a nice tall overhead waterfall shower and was well-equipped.
The restaurant downstairs was delicious for dinner, with tons to choose from, and our waiter was so kind to help us in English. The breakfast was not included the following morning, however. And at £14pp, it's not really worth it. I would recommend heading into nearby Freiburg for something more interesting.
This hotel is not in the city, but about 15km outside, so if you're looking for something centrally-located, this is not it. Great as a stop-over on a roadtrip, however!

We spend the day in Freiburg, had diner there and after that we where looking for a relaxed place to stay. It had a good recommendation and the pictures looked good.
The room was basic white, clean with little windows. We had a room on the back where also is the terras. With nice weather this means noise.
I did not sleep good because of the soft matras, but this is a personal thing.
The staf is very friendly! The pictures are so nice that we expected a farm on a bit more quiet place. The price is a bit high for a (good, proper looking) room.

Very good located in a nice calm area, between Titisee and Freiburg (10 min away from Freiburg). The rooms are wide and the decor is very nice. We stayed in the Blummen room (very nice). Excellent price/value relation.

This hotel is a refreshing novelty in a local theme -an old barn decked out in style with a strong emphasis on timber. The rooms were very nice, the staff were very friendly and receptive to an English speaking tourist and the food was of a very high standard - pre requisite Black Forest cake, breakfast and dinner. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone, very reasonably priced with car parking available and Wifi strong. Wunderbar!

We slept four nights in this hotel.
Our room was “Bauernstube”, a very spacious and cosy bedroom with many wooden features and a big flat TV on one wall which, when switched off was a mirror. The room overlooked the street but we were never disturbed by the traffic as Kirchzarten, more precisely Burg, is a small and quiet village.
The bedding was of high quality and very comfortable.
The problem we had is that there are neither shutters, nor dark curtains and every morning we were woken up quite early by daylight.

Breakfast was a huge buffet, so well appointed with sweet and savoury food (the croissants are excellent) that you could have had a full meal!
Most mornings we enjoyed breakfast on the terrace, sat in the sun, with a splendid view.

The staff is pleasant and helpful, and speak English.

Room Tip: Bauernstube, if you do not mind a bedroom without dark curtains or blinds.

Dear Orchid99GB,

thank you very much for your praise. We will think about ist to change our cutains in light-tight ones. This is a really good improvement suggestion.

Kind Regards,
