The Convict Beach House is in a fantastic and quiet location. The views across the water are amazing and even though we didn't have great weather, the location is just fabulous especially if you want to just kick back and relax with a good book from the third level library. And yet it is only just over an hour from Hobart airport and around 30 minutes to Port Arthur.
We rented the house for 4 nights and that for us was a minimum and we wouldn't recommend any less than 3 nights. The beds are super comfy and the kitchen was fully equipped and I mean fully equipped - the best I have ever experienced anywhere in the world and as good as your own home. Yes, you will need to shop at Sorell for food before arriving because there is no nearby supermarket and not much in the way of restaurants or even pubs. So BYO everything you want to eat and drink.
