“Brilliant experience ”
Reviewed 19 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

We spent 4 days here and this is the best of our 9 weeks in Europe
The welcome briefing was friendly and comprehensive and wow - the view
The owners came over once we had settled in and had a drink and chat with us
We were given great trip advice and plenty of supplies for the first night
The kitchen was great , rooms ample and well appointed and the walks around the property are picturesque and peacefull
Best ever accomodation
Highly recommend
Well done Diana and crew

“Beautiful spacious gite”
Reviewed 3 September 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We very recently spent a week in this beautiful gite. It is very spacious light and airy with lovely period furniture. We were greeted with a lovely tray of wine cheese bread and the best butter I have ever tasted. The location is very good for visiting all the d day sites. It is a few kilometres from the motorway which helps with easy access. There are a few villages nearby with restaurants with nice but "nothing special" food. Approx 12 kms away in Grandcamp Maisy we had some very nice meals.
There were a few maintenance issues which I have told the manager about which will hopefully be fixed.
A DVD was suppose to be supplied and now isn't. We pointed this out to the manager but she didn't rectify it. We were lucky to have beautiful weather but even so after a long day touring it is nice to relax after dinner and watch a DVD from a provided library of such. There was also suppose to be a few English channels on tv which also didn't exist.
Although it is advertised that there is a private garden, there isn't. There is a pebbled carpark at the back which is not appealing to sit in and a tarred road in front.
We were also advised that we could walk all over the property except in the paddocks with horses in them which is fine but the whole place is paddocks. I did ask for some directions for where we could walk but nothing helpful was passed on. There is a small orchard and garden behind the owners house but this takes two minutes to walk in. Also whilst it was very quiet this gite is also very close to several other gites and the owners house so there is no privacy if that is what you are seeking. I think it would be great for large groups and families but not so much for couples.
There were also a few things which have been supplied at other rental places we have stayed at which we found lacking here. I think with a little more effort and money spent in fitting out the kitchen maybe supplying some second hands books to read, decent coat hangers and some of those extra touches like the beautiful food supplied when we arrived this gite could be even better.
We have rated it as 3 out of 5 but it definitely has the potential to be a 4 or 5.

Thanks so much for the review Lesley. We are certainly intending that we maintain a 5* level. We are sorry that you had a problem with the TV as it has both English & French boxes. It remains a mystery to us that you could not access the channels. Rest assured the current guests have both sets working with no problems.

Also we will make sure that all our future guests know that all of the garden, fields, creek and natural marais belong to the property so are private and can be freely accessed. Our very natural environment encourages birds and other animals as well as the beautiful trees and lake features. Strawberries and herbs mingle in the pond garden whilst the orchard has plums, pears, apples, chestnuts, walnuts, apples & cherries.Guests are encouraged to freely pick the fruit and herbs for their cooking. The property is 75 hectares so is a large area to explore with only the stable facility requiring an appointment to arrange a viewing.

Whilst rear car parking is graveled, the front entrance is the natural French stone steps with the tarmac walkway bordering the pond and lawns. Both surfaces allow all weather access which is very much appreciated in the Normandy rain.
Your other feedback has provided me with good ideas as to how I can give additional useful information on arrival & in our advertising. Thank you for your review.
Best regards!

“Luxury and Tranquillity”
Reviewed 29 December 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Hello, myself and my brother in law stayed in Gite Lismore for 5 nights in April 2015. We were in France visiting the D Day sites. Location was excellent for all the D Day sites and attractions and is very close to Cherbourg Ferry. Accommodation is excellent and to the highest standard, very spacious and set in the most beautiful surroundings. Staff and family were very friendly and very welcoming, genuine nice people. We had a great trip and what capped it off for the both of us was the accommodation and staff. I would have no hesitation in recommending Haras Du RY to any traveller, truly 5 star experience.
Thanks.

“A perfect accomodation and an amazing experience”
Reviewed 29 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

The Lismore accommodation is a perfect home for anyone traveling to Normandy. The house is very comfortable, has everything you need, situated in a picturesque and quiet environment. We were 3 adults in two bedrooms and Lismore was exactly what we needed. This is one of those cases where the pictures don't tell enough about this beautiful place. It is close to the landing beaches and 20-30 minutes from Bayeaux. Our host Mirela was extremely nice and caring and we had a great time with her. We recommend this accommodation for a great Normandy experience.

“Absolutely fabulous”
Reviewed 20 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Everything was great about our stay The apartment is very large. The kitchen is well supplied. Coffee, milk, bread and cheese were set out for us when we arrived. The property is gorgeous and centrally located for excursions from Honfleur to Mon St Michel. Mirela is a wonderful host. We would definitely stay there again if we come back to Normandy.
Best to exit the highway at the exit before or after the one your GPS tells you to use. The roads have been rearranged recently.
