We stayed here with friends for a few nights n October 2016 and it surpassed expectations on every level. The warmth of the welcome, the well appointed rooms with super en-suite, and of course the quality of the breakfast.
Sinéad was the consummate host and could not do enough for us and 'going the extra mile' was something that she relished.
Each and every morning we had breakfast served 'Irish style', namely a superb array of home cooked goodies, eggs from the chicken outside, Clonakilty bacon and puddings, and the most fabulous home-baked scones and breads. Of course you could go 'continental' if you so wished with poached fruits, and a selection of juices and yoghurts, but the breakfast coupled with a natter with Sinéad was always a great start to the day - don't try and rush the most important meal/experience of the day!

Room Tip: Room facing the coast is best, but they are all spotless and comfortable.

Stayed three nights in early October. Sinéad was a wonderful host and served an amazing breakfast. Poached fruit, scones or muffins, and yogurt were waiting for us in the breakfast room every morning. Sinéad will make your breakfast to order. I had the full Irish breakfast each day with a perfectly poached fresh egg.

The rooms are clean and quiet. We walked outside each morning to take in the views of the surrounding Irish countryside. It's as beautiful as it looks in the photos.

We were warmly welcomed by Sinead, the owner, and shown to a very spacious, modern bedroom with a very comfortable bed.The room had a rural view looking out over green rolling hills. We were also invited to use the guest lounge room which was light and airy and had tea/coffee making facilities. The breakfast room was on an upper floor, with a full glass window outlook and very modern in look.Breakfast was of a high quality and beautifully presented. All round, a wonderful experience in a most beautiful part of Ireland. We would recoomend a trip to Mizen Head to add to the experience.

Room Tip: All rooms would have rural views and, because de Barry Lodge is situated a few kilometres from town, it is very quiet.

We spent one night at De Barra on our journey along the Wild Atlantic Way. The accommodation was of a high standard and the hosts Sinead and Dan were lovely. They went out of their way to help us with a car problem we had saving us much time and bother. Highly recommended.

Had the most relaxing time with my fiance at De Barra over a lovely long weekend. The B&B was absolutely beautiful and we were made so welcome it felt like a home from home. The room was very clean and the view over the fields was fantastic. The breakfast was the best i've had in a very long time with a full irish fry and home-made scones to name a few of the many options. We planned our stay to travel west to Skibereen, Mizen Head and Bantry on our first day and then east to Clonakilty, Kilsane and Cork City on the second. De Barra is situated nicely between these two beautiful trips next to the town of Roscarbery. It was worth every cent and i would recommend a stay here to any persons wanting to see the outstanding southern coast of ireland.
