My fiancé and I stayed from Sept. 8-13th.
We stayed in the Dutch village and we had a great time! Staff was very friendly! Especially Shadean (sp?) he was very nice and informative at check in. Chevelle who shared lots of information about Jamaica abs the culture and always took care of us. And Amanda, at the loyalty desk who helped us book our next trip.

Beach and pool were great, drinks were good, food was good.

We kayaked in the ocean which was gorgeous and so fun!

We really wanted to do the pelican bar excursion but it was scheduled on the day we were leaving.

Only a couple bummers on the trip - no stocked fridge or robes in rooms (I know we didn't spend 10k for the stay but it wasn't necessarily a cheap trip either)
and sometimes it seemed like the staff isn't kept informed of much. Any question you ask or if you inquire about something you're directed to another staff member then to another.

We definitely enjoyed our trip enough to book another next year to Sandals Royal Barbados but we'll never forget the great time and people of Jamaica!

Just got back from a 10th anniversary trip to South Coast and it was an amazing experience. The property is beautiful. We walked along the beach every morning and felt so lucky to be there. Kristal from the concierge group was so cheerful and gave us a great tour of the property when we arrived. We stayed in a walk out concierge room in the Dutch Village. The Dutch pool was very relaxing and the hot tub overlooks the water. Our favorite was the French pool. It has volleyball and a swim up bar and tended to be very lively-great place for making new friends. Nelson will help to keep the party going, and Roary, Shemika (spelling?), and crew are such fun bartenders. The breakfast at Bayside was delicious! The omelette chefs are fun and talented, and the french toast with Appleton rum syrup is divine. Latitudes is a great post dinner spot for drinks over the water (or just chill in a hammock). We also liked going there when the opened at 10 for "breakfast" pina coladas. Wyatt and Willis were attentive bartenders. The Jerk Shack was our favorite lunch-a must in Jamaica, and Sushi in the Sand was our favorite dinner spot. The staff at Eleanor's is amazing and they can really sing! They sang us a happy anniversary song and it was so special (I usually don't go for that type of thing). Carlene and Melanie gave us wonderful couples massages at the spa. Great for a rainy afternoon. There were so many great staff members, I wish I could remember everyone's name. Most of the buildings and restaurants were modern and well-appointed. We did not notice anything that looked dated or run-down. And I can't say enough about how pretty the property is-we even had a turquoise ocean!

Tips:
leave your heals at home and bring cute flats as you will do a lot of walking
the Pelican Bar cruise is a lot of fun and such a unique, once in a lifetime place (Richard from island routes is awesome)
stay up late a least one night and go dancing at the Martini Bar
make friends- it makes the trip even more fun
skip the craft vendors unless you are good at bartering
reapply sunscreen often so you don't have to worry about burns
wear water shoes if you're going to spend a lot of time in the ocean
if you get motion sickness, take precautions before the bus ride to and from the airport
the bus drivers are a wealth of information-ask them questions

Room Tip: Dutch Village walk out rooms are quiet and relaxing. The French Village still has construction nearby.

My husband and I visited Sandals South Coast for the third time for my 62nd birthday. We had another fabulous time. Elroy in Concierge Services made my birthday extra special. Patrice, the manager of Eleanor's Restaurant, made a special dish of curried goat just for me when she learned it was my favorite Jamaican dish and was not on the menu during our stay. Orlando the bartender was a great mixologist and had a great personality. We booked our next trip to Sandals before we departed.

Room Tip: We always stay in the Dutch Village.

We had honeymooned at a Sandals resort 5 years ago and have planned on traveling to another one ever since. Jamaica has always been on our travel list, so we chose Sandals South Coast as where to stay to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary.

The staff in the entire resort were helpful, friendly and amazing. They always went out of their way to make you feel more comfortable and to make sure that you were having a great time.

Our room was cleaned and picked-up several times throughout the day and it was always nice to receive the newsletter each night to let you know what restaurants would be open the next day or what activities were happening around the resort.

The resort is beautiful. The landscaping, flowers, buildings, restaurants and pools are very well maintained. The beaches do have some seaweed, but the staff are always out cleaning it up every morning. The setting is absolutely beautiful and the sunsets amazing!!!

Some of our favorites on the entertainment committee were Nelson, Toni and Bones! The drum band that they brought in were amazing. We got to see them perform twice during the week that we were there. Rori the opera singer, was absolutely amazing and listening to him was a great way to spend a relaxing evening.

The bartenders around the entire resort were always entertaining and you never had to wait for a drink. Some of our favorites were Kevin, Kevon and Myers. Kevin always greeted you with a smile and even served us drink on his head. Kevon made me a fabulous pink drink, "The Ocean Wave". It is one that you must try!

The resort never felt crowded while we were there. There was never a time that we had to wait to get into any restaurants, wait for chairs at the pool, etc.

The water sports provided were great. The tubing, sea kayaking and paddle boarding are all great ways to spend some time on the water. Sometimes the wind picks up in the afternoon, so it is a good idea to try to do these in the morning in case they do have to close.

We purchased a bottle of wine at the Managers cocktail party and were expecting to have the bottle at a dinner later in the week. When we arrived to dinner that evening we were pleasantly surprised to be served on the beach, in a private cabana with a private server right by the ocean in the candlelight. It was an amazing evening!!!

There is no reason to ever be thirsty or hungry at this resort! There are so many options. Jasmine's food (especially the salmon and the rice) is amazing and Eleanor's has amazing food as well. The sushi restaurant has a great vibe and the food is amazing.

Walking the beach at sunset and spending some time at Latitude the over the water bar laying in a hammock or sitting by a fire pit are a great way to end an evening.

Overall, my husband and I had an amazing anniversary. Sandals did an amazing job making our week together one to remember. We will definitely be returning to Sandals in the future.

Room Tip: Corner Rooms in the French Village have beautiful views of the sunset
