Spectacular place...one of my favorite stays and I travel a lot

Bahia Beach Resort is part of the St Regis property. We stayed at one of the residences managed by Inspirato.com
The residence was a 3br unit, 2nd floor and was beautiful

The grounds of the resort were pristine and perfect. I suck at golf but found myself longing to take our golf cart and play a round

The Coqui frogs were singing in full force

I will say the resort was almost uninhabited in April 2016. We sat by a small pool for two straight days and never saw another guest (which is how I like it when I am unplugged) so I asked a staff member why and was told the Zika virus scare

This is bookmarked as one of my wife and I's favorite places to go chill

Room tip: buy into the Inspirato.com vacation plan

We thought this resort was beautiful! The grounds were immaculate! It was so lush and green with so many different types of palm trees and flowering plants. We loved the sounds of the coqui frogs every night. With pools, the beach, kayaking, paddle boarding, biking, the driving range, boogie boarding (weekends only), and the bouncy slides, there was so much for everyone to do. We really enjoyed our time here!

Bahia Resort is a gorgeous property. Lots to do and see. However beware the Sugar Beach pool bar staff. How do you spell SCAM?? They tried to charge for 3 food items that were never ordered. And they will mix up double drinks and put them in front of you. What they don't tell you is you are then charged double. $28 for a mojito??? Really?? Weekend also brought in lots of drunken golfers. Great spot for kids during the week but not so much on the weekend.

We had three families staying together in a large 3br apartment at the Bahia Beach Resort recently and it was fantastic. The unit was clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. The location was fantastic -- a very quick drive from the airport, yet kind of secluded on Bahia Beach. The resort is a preserve, and it is not only beautifully landscaped, but it must be full of tiny coqui frogs. We never saw a frog, but at dusk they launch into song, each with its own unique voice and pattern, and it's spectacular. There were also plenty of lizards and geckos around, which our kids found very entertaining. You have to pay $20/adult per day extra for access to the Beach club (which also gets you access to a boathouse with kayaks, bicycles, and a great bouncy castle thing on a lake that the kids LOVED), but it's also possible to just go to the beach for free.

The only thing we would have changed is that the unit was missing some things that that would have made our trip a little smoother. In particular, there was no working blender or hair dryer, and there was only two knives in the kitchen (so you won't be eating steak as a family unless you intend to share cutlery).

They spray the resort for pests so we had relatively few mosquitoes, but if you eat at one of the little beach kiosks in Lukia or elsewhere, make sure you are slathered in Off.

We would definitely go back!

Room tip: Many units don't have ocean views so if you want one, be sure to make sure you have chosen a unit with one.

The resort is beautifully maintained. We did not stay there, we played golf 4 days and eat at Molasses several times. The course was in fabulous condition and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommend it.
