Easy parking and lots of outside tables and chairs. Feels deep in the countryside. Small bar, open fire, unpretentious. Friendly people. Loved it!

We had lunch here last week but what a delight. An old fashioned pub with a small but great menu. It is great to find a village pub that hasn’t been modernised and still retains its rustic charm.

I have been here often, but recently it has gone downhill somewhat. They have a new till for food which appears to be slowing things down, and co-incidentally prices have shot up. Harveys is now a £1 a pint more expensive that another local pub. The last sandwich I had here had cheap sliced bread. Overall left disappointed, not the attraction it was, so may be trying other local houses.

In fact I write this after being away on holiday, I often have a pint and a sandwich at lunch, and frankly whiklst away had seriously better quality at a better price everywhere else we went. Even the Plough in Henfield does it better and cheaper!

This pub is always busy and the fact people have to drive to get here says something about it.

The bar is quirky and exudes all the charm of a traditional old British pub. (Beware tall people as my husband has to stand between beams to stand up right)

We were warmly welcomed and directed to our table and this continued throughout our meal - a real “can do” attitude coupled with a dusting of humour!

The menu is always changing and fairly small, but you find some unusual dishes alongside pub classics.

The food is well presented and tasty.

We didn't plan to eat here, we just happened to be passing and it was lunch time!
Though we had a bit of a wait for our order it was worth the wait - the food served was home cooked, fresh and tasty. We would definitely recommend!
