“Nearly Perfect!”

When renting a property in a country you know nothing about, there's always the worry, "Did I make the right decision?" After looking at photos of many rentals we settled on Grace Bay Townhouses. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised that the condo surpassed our expectations. the furnishings were tasteful, the condo was spotless and the views beautiful. We loved our corner location and the screened in porch. I had been worried that we would be needing air conditioning, even though the description said there were cross breezes that would not make that necessary. That certainly was true of the downstairs, especially if you left the front door open. (Not a problem, since it was private and safe, and bugs were not an issue.) Upstairs, in the master bedroom we did use the air conditioning the first night, but in subsequent nights we found that if we left our bedroom door open there would be a cross breeze. That might be an issue if you were traveling with another couple, as we were. They left their door open too, but the bedrooms are far enough apart to make it not too much of a problem. Speaking of the bedrooms, there were two walk-in closets in the master bedroom, big enough to dress in.

The grounds were beautiful and meticulously maintained, the pool was sparkling and we were entertained daily by resident green herons, searching for tiny geckos in the trees. The second bedroom upstairs had a view of a large pond frequented by a flock of egrets and ducks. One day, as we pulled into the driveway a tall white egret was strolling through the parking lot among the cars.

There was almost never anyone at the pool, so it was like having your own private pool, which was really nice - except that it was not heated and the water was really cold. Nice to take a quick dip when you were hot, but too cold to stay in. I understand that electricity is really expensive, which is why they charge extra for air conditioning, but I love to swim and that was a disappointment. Of course, we could walk to Grace Bay beach which is advertised as being a 5 minute walk. Perhaps for a young person who is nearly sprinting, but it was more like 15 minutes for these old bones. The path was convenient and it was easy to find the way and it was a pleasant walk, after all. There is a parking lot at the public beach entrance of Seven Stars and we often drove there and parked. The condo is stocked with a cooler, four beach chairs and small beach umbrellas, as well as a beach cart to carry them, if you wished to take them on the beach path or in the car to other beaches. There is a barbeque in the pool area if you want grill, which we did not use. But I opened it and it was impeccably clean.

Grace Bay Townhomes is a great reasonably priced option for Providenciales. If you want to stay directly on Grace Bay you will pay quite a bit more and have less room and privacy. Its location is convenient to explore the island in all directions and within walking distance of groceries, shopping and the beach. The landlords, Scott and his wife Dana, live on the premises and are always available in case of questions. A cell phone for local calls is provided in the unit, which was convenient for making restaurant reservations. The wi-fi worked fine and we used it to Skype our family back home. Scott was also very helpful in his recommendations of where to eat and what to see on the island. Aside from the issue of the pool water and the slightly farther distance to the beach than we thought, this was nearly a perfect vacation and we can highly recommended this rental and Providenciales as an ideal vacation spot.

“Lovely landscaping, comfortable rental, close to beach”
Reviewed 12 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

My husband, one-year old son and I rented a townhome the last week of October. The townhome was so nice, we dream about buying one! The unit was very clean and modern, the beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the pool surrounded by tropical landscaping. The owners provided us with a booster seat and pack and play for our son, which was very helpful. There was a walking path to Grace Bay from the townhomes, took about 5 minutes, very easy. By the end of the week, however, we found it easier to drive and park at the beach with all of our baby gear, etc. There is an additional fee for air conditioning, which we found necessary for sleeping. All in all, this townhome is luxurious and a real bargain for being so close to Grace Bay, which is absolutely stunning.
