“satisfaction and comfort”
Review of Virgin Atlantic Airways

Reviewed 4 weeks ago

comfortable check in and boarding and sufficient in flight services makes for a very satisfied overall experience. only complaint is meal options. ran out of chicken and my party of 3 are all hindus and do not eat pork or beef of which the pork was what remained. even on return flight in advance i requested the hindu CHICKEN option for us all yet were told in flight that there were no options once hindu was selected and we had to take the vegetarian again.

Virgin Atlantic upper class is a great way to fly. They call you the day before and ask your vehicle tag number so you can arrive to their private terminal which is very high class. Once checked in you go through a special TSA area for security check. Within a few minutes you are up in the Virgin overseas lounge eating, drinking, getting a massage, a haircut or even playing billiards.

On the jet there was a small sit down bar to have cocktails at 37,000 feet. The service in upper class was top notch on both legs of the flight. Flights were both on time if not early to arrive.

The flight was operated by Virgin Atlantic in cooperation with Delta. New Boeing Dreamliner is an excellent plane with comfortable seats and large overhead luggage compartment. Entertainment system was great as well. However, the most impressive was service. Flight attendants and stewardess were polite and provided food and drinks all flight long. Food was good too.

I need a regular flight route now from London to New York for business, Even though flights out of Heathrow are more expensive, I don't like using any of the other metropolitan hubs. I was offered an upgraded return flight, which was a reasonable expense. The premiere check in experience was terrific; absolutely no queue with friendly agents, and a breeze through security. The lounge was simply superb, serving delicious food and hearty drinks. I really liked the fact that they announce the flights over the speaker system, so there was no need to constantly gaze at the flight schedule screen. Everything was ideal until I sat down my seat. The airplane was an Airbus A330-300, and nothing about the configuration seemed ergonomic to me. I am not a skinny guy, but after flying upper class on other airlines over the years I have never had the feeling of claustrophobia that I did with this seat. Not only that, but there did not seem to be natural places to place individual items like my phone or even a drink. I found that I liked the first leg from London in Economy Plus much more than the flight home.
