In general, this is a totally out of date seating design that UA is in the process of replacing.

The seating is decent and comfortable on the recline but IMPOSSIBLY short on the flat bed options when one is over 5'10" with any size 11 shoes! Best to take off the shoes but not much help.

The best sleeping position is be semi-inclined and stretched out with the feet actually placed below the foot rest shelf. It actually provides the maximum length for the seating.

It's a poor Business Class choice unless one is getting an free upgrade or one is under 5'10" tall or you found a great discount fare!

I can think of better Business Class to Europe such as KLM and AirFrance 777s.

Crew was great on ground and in the cabin.

The condition of the plane, particularly the emergency exit door, which I was seated next to, was visibly upsetting. The frame, the surrounding trim and wall, and the door itself, were all significantly damaged from previous use, rusted, poorly painted, chipped, bent, dented and cracked.

As we hit turbulence, bits of plastic dropped out of the air vents and lighting above me into my lap. Thankfully, it was a short flight.

A pleasant flight - left on time, arrived on time - nothing to complain about. Newark was a really convenient airport for Midtown New York with a rail connection straight into Penn Station
