I was excited to travel Singapore Airlines as I'd heard they were among the best out there. But having just returned from our long haul flights with them, I can report they were decidedly average!
The service was odd. My pre-ordered vegan meal and others came out first. We weren't offered a drink at the sme time and there was no drinks service before the first meal. I couldn't wait for my partner to get his regular meal to eat together because there was such a time delay between the two that my food would have been cold. He was offered a drink and at this time so was I but my meal was eaten by then.
My food on the way out was pretty nice but on the return flight it was not. A big lump of tofu with some fairly dry and odd flavoured rice. With the opportunity to offer a lovely curry or noodle dish, I don't understand this choice.
Drinks service was lacking. We were only offered one drink with dinner. I don't evr drink much on a flight but a gin and tonic would have been nice on a 14 hours flight! On the overnight flight I didn't see the attendants offering water very often either. I asked for a juice because I was really thirsty.
The legroom on the way out was tight. Our A 380 plane on the way back was better.
All in all a disappointing experience and I will be looking to book other airlines in future
