I made my 1K with United and I thought “Great! I can fly on a better airline for a 16 hour flight.” So I chose Singapore Business Class. Wow. Was I wrong. The only thing better was the food and service. The hard product (seat) and some of the soft products were terrible. To sleep, you have to contort your body all the way to the right of the seat to this little cubby (very, very small) to put your feet in. If you’re lucky to sleep, think how this will feel after 8 hours. Your back kills you. The IFE screen literally feels as if it’s 18 inches from your nose. You can’t see the whole screen at the same time, you’re so close. I asked the flight attendant for pajamas. They don’t give them unless your first class which this plane does not have. United gives them when the flight is longer than 12 hours. I always thought Polaris was small until I got into this seat and thought I was going to have a claustrophobic panic attack. I have slept on their A380 beds. Wonderful. Business class on an A350-900 is surprisingly subpar. I never, ever thought I would recommend United over Singapore. I do now.
