“Budget Airline-Loved it”
Review of Ryanair

Reviewed 2 November 2017

Booked in advance & got at deal price. Booking was easy & everything was oriented to try to get you to pay for extras. Check in without bags was easy as it is also done all online. It was on time & the gate queues are rather like other airlines, the flight was clean with good amount of legroom. The seats were more comfortable and...I recommend ryanair. Worth travel for the price.

Really bad turbulence which is of course not Ryanair’s fault. However every time the seatbelt sign was switched on the cabin crew reminded us that the life jackets where above the seats (which only made people panic) and throughout the turbulence the seats creaked and it felt like the plane was going to fall apart. Didn’t feel safe at all. Also couldn’t hear the announcements and the safety demonstration was not carried out fully as the head air hostess was saying the procedure and the other staff only joined half way through the demonstration.

I've been flying with Ryanair for a good while and never really understood all the hate. I do now. We boarded the plane to find that the seatback pockets had been axed, presumably to increase the legroom (which is still pretty bad because they've crammed more seat rows in). Take off was fifteen minutes late. Once we were in the sky, we were assuming that we'd be given a menu for the cafe service they provide. Nope. An hour and twenty minutes into the two and a half hour flight, the cabin crew came around with drinks. Slowest service ever! The tray table was filthy. It looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. And the icing on the cake it that Aer Lingus was €40 cheaper for four people. I wasn't in control of booking the flight. So in short, go with Aer Lingus. It is possible to pay for better service.

Travelled with Ryanair for the first time and we really enjoyed the flight there and back. The staff on board were lovely, but watch out on the car hire. We got it with Ryanair Thrifty/Hertz and were not given all the insurance options online. We ended up paying Thrifty and extra €136 as the policy we got was terrible and required us to pay £670 on arrival, after paying £44 already. We were aware of this, but did not get the better option online. The car was dirty and not full of fuel, we were expected to return it full and did so. We also noticed something very strange, we filled the car from quater full one day and €20 done it. When going back, I used the pump myself from quater full again and it was €35 and it would have took more. Weird.

Can you believe it - the shortest crossing to their own 'hub' and flight to Dublin gets delayed by 2 hours - flight back delayed by 1 hour.
I had an email offering up to 5 Euros worth of snacks - when I worked it out, the walk back to where I could use it at Birmingham was too far away - nice one!
Didn't like the haphazard approach to checking in those bags that would stay in the cabin and those that would go in the hold. Apparently, the first 90 can go in the cabin. OK, but the guy doing this moved between the queue picking some and not others! Me and my wife had a small case each - hers went in the hold, mine didn't. ??? I didn't get it. Will never fly with these again - its a shame Monarch who we flew with prior to this folded because they were brilliant.
