Be Cautious of Qatar Airways Poor Customer Service, and Illogical Hidden Fees.
Although my flight experiences with Qatar Airlines have been great, I am really Disappointed with the Poor Customer Service. When I attempted to cancel a flight, there was a $480 cancellation fee, which I was aware of. However, when I received the refund, it was for $153 less than what I actually paid for the ticket (after deducting the $480 cancellation fee). I have been trying to get an issue resolved since over 2 months. All of the agents I chatted with online kept guessing at what it might be and promised to escalate the issue. Finally, I did receive one phone call from an agent, who said that when I changed the time of the outbound flight, the fare was reduced by $153, and it was Qatar’s policy to base the refund on the adjusted fare. I told him that does not make a difference since I did Not receive a $153 refund for the difference. I just read the Fare Rules again, and there is nothing in the rules stating that the refund would be based on the reduced fare. This would Not be logical. If you purchased something from a store, and later returned it, you would get a refund for the price you paid on your receipt; not the price they later reduced. Obviously, the Qatar agent is misinterpreting the policy. I asked him to escalate the issue, and he suggested that I go online and register a complaint. That’s what I have been doing for over 2 months now. I don’t know where else to turn at this point. I did find an address for Qatar’s new CEO, Badr Mohammed Al-Meer. I will write to him and perhaps someone on his staff can resolve this issue.

How Qatar can claim to be "the world's best airline" with a straight face is beyond me. Worst experience I have ever had, customer service non existent.

Was upgrading the flight for experience paid for my business class ticket the payment went through and then the page was stuck and came out as error. The staff is not helpfull at all was made to wait for 2 hrs to talk to the service agent no help provided rude staff and have to travel in economy. Will not recommend this to anyone.

Flew business class from Milan to Bangkok & I agree with the last commenters remark about sub standard aircraft however I have found other airlines (Singapore who I flew last year) to be just as bad flying from Rome. Also they have n o dedicated lounge in Milan & the only one their is disappointing. My biggest issues if that due to them having such poor Customer Service, customers resort to making comments on their Facebook page & have had numerous complaints about scammers preying on those customers. Qatar Airlines social media appears to be unmonitored, they do not add comments to be aware of scammers posing as them. It is a terrible situation. I don't care if you're flying economy or business class, you're paying for a ticket & expect to be able to contact Customer Service if there are issues.
