Qantas lost my luggage in 2023. After lengthy and numerous discussions with customer service, all they said was that they were doing everything they could. I had to LITERALLY ring the airport and speak to the staff there to find out if my luggage was there, and then ask them to send it to my home address, after we returned from our holiday. Qantas gave me $300 as a compensation after. They would not refund the money we spent to buy our essentials for not having our luggage the whole trip. How bad!

Second issue was a CONFIRMED flight for my mom, for which no itinerary was sent. A week before the flight, Qantas said all sorted and they were sending the itinerary to my email. Few days before, no email so I rang again. This time, they said the booking was NOT confirmed. I had to painfully cancel the flight.

Never fly with this airline. It is definitely one of the worst!

We experienced terrible service on 5 August. We boarded our flight from Alice Springs to Melbourne and left the gate. The plane stopped part way down the runway and we sat there for twenty minutes with no information. Next the plane returned to the gate and the captain finally came on and advised that we had to pick up an engineer in Alice Springs, take him to Ayers Rock (Uluru) as he was needed there to repair another plane. There was nothing wrong with our plane. We were disrupted for their operational requirements. This resulted in a poor food service on the first sector from Alice Springs to Uluru and then no food on the second sector from Uluru to Melbourne. We originally had a three-hour transit in Melbourne and were planning to spend time in the Qantas Club with our friends who were also on the flight.

In the end, we landed in Melbourne 4 minutes before our next flight was due to leave for Hobart. Although a buggy had been arranged to take us to the next gate, no-one told us. The driver had no sign and did not shout out “Hobart” – we only approached him because one of our friends had a sore knee so we asked for help. He said he was there to help us, but we are not sure how we would have known this.

We made the flight but missed our dinner and drinks in the Qantas Club. We had not eaten since the pitiful snack after Alice Springs.

Worst food I have ever had on a business flight. Service staff couldn’t care less and appeared bored and disinterested in customers. No effort no smiles no customer service. Luckily I used points so endured the experience. I would never pay for Qantas business as too many other great choices

This has to be the absolute worst airline!!! Flying from South Africa to Brisbane for the second time, and on both occasions my flight was delayed. Both times were due to engine issues. I was left on the tarmac for four hours!!! My flight to Brisbane is now delayed as well. They removed our bags without informing us and we now have no luggage and the staff have been less than helpful!!! Absolutely horrible!!! No communication whatsoever!!!

After multiple domestic flights in the US it really brings home how low rent the "national carrier" of Australia is.

40% less leg room, sub par meals and tiny over head storage for bags.

Given the opportunity I'd never fly them again
