My wife and I flew from Melbourne back to LAX which took 14 hrs. We flew on a A380 and were impressed and happy with the plane which was relatively quiet and big. Climbing up to the cruising altitude was effortless. There were a few minor bumps along the way but otherwise the trip was uneventful. Service was good and the food was decent. I would fly Qantas again given the opportunity.

We used to go Virgin and thought to change to Qantas. It was much much better than expected. The staff were great and the food both unexpected and tasty. The icecream and chocolate treats were an added bonus.

Due to a problem loading some freight the flight was 30 mins late leaving Perth, landing in Sydney at 7 pm rather than 6.30 pm. It was a lunch time flight and I didn't see an empty seat. We find the seating set up very satisfactory as my husband likes the window seat and if we want to stretch our legs we don't have to disturb someone on the aisle seat. The lunch was perfectly acceptable and the service was excellent. In the onboard Entertainment 'TV' I found a doco with Michael Caine, the actor, which I found thoroughly entertaining and amusing.

Earlier flights from Melbourne were already delayed / cancelled, and Qantas should have known earlier that this would affect the following flights, but there were no pre-alerts given on the cancellation of our flight till at the airport. Only provided $20 meal voucher, and a very much later flight schedule. Inflight services have also deteriorated compared to years ago. Qantas definitely need to improve on their services to remain competitive.

This was an older plane but it was still comfortable, and importantly ran on time! The food was OK for plane food, drinks available if I wanted, so all in all, pretty good. Only low point was perhaps lack of leg room compared to the newer planes.
