First flight on Norwegian. Booked it for fare and direct flight. Some things to know.
You don't walk onto the plane like any other flight from Seattle. You board a bus that takes you out onto the tarmac and then you walk up a boarding ramp onto the plane.
Same on return, bus to customs.
Second-even with upgraded Economy (more money but checked bag,food, and assigned seat) the service is bare minimum. BRING WATER, nothing is served unless you have meal service. You can, of course, buy water and other beverages.
Food was horrible-we just brought our own on return trip.
Staff-who knows-none of them said a word on either flight and they disappeared completely for long stretches of flight.
That said, the planes are new Boeing 787(nice plane), it was clean and it got us there for 300 dollars less than British Air. And flying in coach/economy is basically just a bus ride no matter what airline you are on.
IF service is important to you, skip this airline. But if cost is king-this is the airline for you.

There was a short delay because of a storm but incoming flight went off to Marsaille by the time it came back to Grenoble one of the flight attendants had run out of flying hours. They wanted 32 people off the fight and expected people to volanteer even though it was late at night and they announced that there was no compensation. Needless to say no one volunteered so they kicked off the last 32 to book in.

We started boarding and the luggage was brought out to the plane but not loaded. The strewardess would not find out what was going on, eventually they said the Captain would say something later. About 10 minutes before landing they did announce that the Captain had taken the decision not to load the luggage so that we could actually get away. By the time we landed the passengers were all getting very angry about it, at this point the flight deck gave a different explanation saying it was the handling crew who did not want to put it on, it was nothing to do with Norwegian and that we should all take it up with our tour company.

After two days Norwegian contacted us to say the luggage would not be flow back to Gatwick untill next Saturday i.e. a week after our flight. We await to see what actually happens.

Good price, friendly, helpful staff. In flight service was great and the food was very good for "airline food".

Flight left a little after midnight. Flight was about 10 hours long and on time. I slept for about 8 of those hours. $230 one way fare was the basics - no seat assignment, no checked luggage, no food, no drinks. I had with me a backpack and a computer case and had no problems. They are my preferred airline going between USA and Europe. The cost to upgrade at the gate was $400 (and was all gone by the time I checked in).
They do not do TSA pre-check.

This was our first time that we flew Norwegian. The flight was long but comfortable. It looked like a brand new aircraft. Really nice. The infotainment system was powered by Android had pinch zoom etc. Responsive and good selection of English movies.

The checkin was slow. They had only 2-3 counters open and that delayed us a bit but we still made it to the gate in time. There aren't many food options in the terminal by the way. We decided not to buy anything during the flight though they have lots of options and one can swipe the card right at the seat while ordering food or drinks.

I am likely to fly them again if I manage good fare. Lack of food/drinks wasn't a big problem.
