Review of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines

We have flown with KLM out of Calgary and return a number of times. Not once were we delayed an excessive amount of time and when it did occur ( twice) the aircraft always arrived on time or ahead of schedule. Check in at Calgary and Amsterdam is a breeze and the waiting area is comfortable. The cabin crew were always very efficient and helpful. The ammenities that are in Business class as well as Economy are excellent--good choice of movies and music. Drink service is always prompt and without fuss. Seats and pods are very well equipped and comfortable.
We recommend KLM for any flights to Europe's Amsterdam is a good hub to use to travel elsewhere in Europe--plus, Amsterdam is one of the greatest cities to visit and rivals Venice for the canals, bars,restaurants and historical sights.

Made a roundtrip Toronto-Amsterdam-Barcelona-Amsterdam-Toronto recently and experienced a vastly improved service over previous flights with this Company (Europe-Middle East-Far East). Dietry requirements were were met with varying quality as well as assistance at airports travelled through. Gluten free dinner on leg Toronto-Amsterdam was plain awful and assistance at Schiphol Airport was extremely slow. Service on board aircraft was excellent. KLM is becoming a threat to Jet Airways on this sector!

i have flown quite a lot recently with KLM and for the prices they charge there service
is by far the worse i have ever seen.You get a pathetic cheese sandwich which not
everyone can eat and a very small half cup of luke warm tea or coffee.you can have a wine or beer,soft drink but that is it. They would be better giving you nothing if thats the best they can manage in this day and age for the prices they charge.But i would
like to say that the staff are very friendly and always have a smile for everyone and also there duty free is rubbish.

We had arrange a flight with KLM from Glasgow to New York via Amsterdam. Unfortunately at Glasgow the weather was bad so we needed de-icer treatment prior to take off. This was carried out quickly and efficiently however it still resulted in the plane taking off more than an hour late. This was going to cause problems as many passengers were travelling to Amsterdam to get connecting flights.

The Glasgow Amsterdam leg of the flight takes just over an hour but during that time the crew had checked each passengers journeys and came round with instructions on what to do when the plane landed. They even managed to delay the departure of our flight a few minutes to ensure we could board.
Compare and contrast this withDelta Airlines on the way back.

The attention to detail be the crew ensured that passenger delays were kept to a minimum (and it must have saved the airline money in terms of finding accommodation for delayed customers)

Both the short haul and long haul legs of the flight were reasonably comfortable with good in flight service but it is the efficient way the crew dealt with the delay which impressed most

Even though KLM is flying a smaller airplane on this route, it doesn't take any comfort away from you. The legroom is still pretty generous and even a person taller than 195cm (6'5'') can fit there without problems, although it never hurts to pay a little extra for economy plus. The staff is friendly but professional, and extremely helpful. The food served on board is would be definitely described as something more than a small snack, even when flying in the economy class. Overall, my experience with KLM on this flight (just as on the others) was very pleasant and without any negative impressions.
