We fly to Bali once or twice a year and have for the past twenty years and have flown with other airlines, budget and otherwise. We now will only fly Garuda, service is brilliant, always on time, even in the worst case scenario such as the volcano eruptions (were with another airline and was stuck for 11 days, thanks for everything Woolworths travel insurance, the best). During said period we watched multiple Garuda flights out daily, that was the last straw, we started flying Garuda in 1999 and will continue. Worth the little bit extra....by far

What was once viewed as and experienced as a first class service airline has slowly deteriorated over the past 3 years with a noticeable decline in the standard of service. My recent experience was vastly different from previous years. The following issues were encountered:

* Service was slow
* Problems with the headphones being broken (this also occurred on the flight leaving Sydney)
* Asked for something from the menu prior to having breakfast and it took 3 hours for this to be served and when it was served it was inedible. It was the beef tortilla with only one small tiny piece of beef and very soggy raw tasting tortillas.
* The wrong meal was brought out to my friend.
* Breakfast was not served until approximately 1 hour out of Sydney and for some passengers it was served as we descended into Sydney. Staff expressed there had been a mix up in the communication with the pilot as they had been told we were 3 hours out of Sydney when in fact we were an hour out. This meant staff were rushed, obviously stressed, not responding to call buttons, people were forced to hurry through their meals or forgo them entirely. Wrong dishes were being served, drinks were never forthcoming (previously ordered) and I had to ask for the entry card to be provided at the last minute. Certainly not up to the usual Garuda standards and extremely disappointing.

This is an excellent airline, showing a complete turn around from what is was considered years ago. They have worked hard to identify previous issues, and to set about and achieve major improvements and quality in airline travel. Has better leg room than most.

We flew out of Terminal 3 at Changi Airport arriving there by using the MRT, the station being only 50 meters from the terminal entrance. We try to use Garuda as often as we can due to the baggage limits (30 kg ecconomy) and the service provided by the cabin crew, this flight was no exception although short for an international hop, 2 hours 30 minutes. I do recomend Garuda for flights to and from Singapore from Indonesia as well as flights to and from Australia as well for domestic flights.
