OK, so a trip that is 26 hrs door to do is going to be an experience. This was a good one in terms of what Etihad offered as a first time with them. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the quality of food was better than I have experienced on other flights. No idea though which timezone food was based on as it came at odd times and sometimes when most people were sleeping. Still, missing coleslaw for breakfast was no loss. Etihad: you could offer some clues about when food will appear so that Economy folk can plan their sleep. In flight ents were what might be expected. "Popular" films, boxed sets etc but overall not a wide choice in the end. If you use bluetooth noise-cancelling headphones you can sync with their system, which is good, as their headphones don't fully cover the ears and after an hour get a bit tight. Lots of repeat adverts are a nuisance and once is enough for a captive audience but many times leaves a poor impression. For those who are tallish, using inflatable pillow or not, note that some of the seat headrests will push up for more support. those of you in aisle seats, the armrest will lift if you locate the hidden button on the underside near the hinge. It's worth exploring the ents system fully at the outset by drilling down the various menus. Several times disembarking would have been quicker if more doors were opened instead of just the one. However, all said, Etihad staff are smartly attired with a professionalism to match, both in flight and staffing the airport.
