One hears about the Middle Eastern Airlines and how they are rewriting the book on service. I flew Etihad Syd to Cairo and returned via Athens. The lie flat set / bed was well... flat but it was a little tight around my shoulders (I am very average in build). To sit backwards i.e. facing the rear of the plane was initially unusual but was felt okay. The meals served were overall well presented. The service was good but I do feel it is over-rated. The entertainment / movies selection available was quite poor.

On return from Athens at Check-in I was charged USD260 for an extra cabin bag for check-in. I was annoyed since the reason why we travel business class is to mitigate these small issues. I went and purchased a suitcase and finally checked in two pieces without penalty.

Etihad offers a free one night stop-over in Abu Dhabi for Business Class which is very much welcomed. I stayed three nights and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Out of the 3 flights I took I found the F&B manager on both flights by far the more “seen” member of the crew. I have flown business on other airlines and often on waking you ateapproached by crew asking if you would like breakfast or a coffee etc I had pressed the call button for a good 20 minutes before anybody even put in appearance. Not the best entertainment system, but I have used worst

I flew 4flights with etihad in 7 days 3 business 1 economy
The cabin crew in economy I found surly, rude and caught one sly member pulling faces at passengers, refusing to give several a drink of water with their meal saying they already have water with it, the plastic container is several mouthfuls at best not like having a proper drink. Will I fly etihad again, no probably not some of the cabin crew need to remember it’s the customers that pay their wages, no customers = no job.

Nice people on the flight to be fair. Menu was a bit weak. Seats ere OK but not great for sleeping completely flat. Nice blankets. Efficient and friendly staff. Lounge at Heathrow was very poor compared to Qatar. would use them again but its nit a Qatar experience. Abu Dhabi airport is to a path on Doha and nowhere near as many staff around to assist. Business longer in Doha is way better.

good service. Overnight flight, very comfortable seats, service was good.
Great food, very nice cabin crew
