Six of us were scheduled to fly Delta r/t to Memphis for my niece’s wedding weekend. Taking of around 10am Friday so we’d get there in plenty of time for the dinner that night. Plane’s waiting at the gate when we got there. Great. Except we’re first delayed an hour, then two, then four, because Delta has mismanaged the crew schedules. We finally get on, taxi out to the runway — and have to go back to the gate because of equipment problems. And then wait for an assessment of the problem. And then deplane. And then wait for a replacement plane, which of course doesn’t exist so the flight is cancelled, SIX HOURS after it was supposed to take off. Delta’s solution? Fly to Atlanta, stay in a hotel overnight, then take an early morning flight to Memphis. No thank you. We got a flight to Birmingham and drove three hours to Memphis at midnight. Cost an additional $300 for the Hertz van. Missed the Friday night festivities. Three days later, the return flight was cancelled too, costing us an additional day off work. NEVER AGAIN!

we fly lots with Delta , and their partners KLM AF and Virgin, They have really got their ac t together, as if one of the partners flight delayed the others kick in to help? say you fly, Manchester or London, to USA , then you fly Delta onwards, If your first flight is delayed, as its not part of the Partners, the others dod not have to help you, where as , its usually done for you, as part of the alliance, Service, flights are usually excellent, with cabin crew always helpful. My tip, try to fly with one Group, as you can group airmiles, all have great movies on the longer flights, . So you could fly say KLM, to Los Angeles, then Delta to Hawaii, back with Delta , and Air France, etc, your Delta FF airmails number gives you flight credit for all the flights, Next thing you know, you have 25k miles, which moves you up to Silver( see sky miles, Delta) this gives you more benefits, and the miles never go away like some other airlines, book a car, hotel, air miles for them, Also virgin /atlantic you can put in your Delta number sky miles, Your in good hands as they say, ha ha,

nice & easy, clean & comfortable, helpful staff, good food, smooth check inn. Staff speaks several languages and is very to the point.

At the beginning of September we flew Delta from Madrid to Seattle via Paris. It was for both of us an excellent flight. The 1st part to Paris CDG was under the Air France banner & was excellent, including the free coffee/tea & warm croissants. The 2nd part was with Delta from Paris to Seattle Tacoma. Obviously the longest part but no problem we had in flight movies, soft drinks,alcohol, tea/coffee,snacks & dinner all free.
If we should fly long haul again from Madrid to the U.S, Delta would probably be our 1st choice.

Delta are not interested in any form of feedback - complimentary or negative. They constantly reschedule and leave passengers with nil connections and fail to offer an alternative. They fly customers over the longest way around when they reschedule and then they even threaten passengers with additional fees, fares and taxes when they can make a simple change of a flight number from a code share to their own flight number. They do not respond to Facebook, email or letters. Seriously reconsidering future bookings with them, even though any benefits will be lost.
