Despite already having a boarding pass the airline did not let us on the plane and booked us on a flight 24h later. We are a family with a 5 year old and a 10 year old, it was 9pm local time and we had already traveled close to 20h before that.
I would avoid this airline due to bad communication especially if your itinerary involves flights operated by other airlines.
There was not sufficient service during the 17-hour flight. Flight attendants only appeared active in the first 3 hours and the last 2 hours of the flight. In a 12-hour period, they did not provide any water or snack to passengers without request. Their meals service was also much slower than other airlines.
To eligible for 24 hour Cancellation, we must sign-in and book through the account, which most people do not know about it. They charged me for 150$ USD, 40% of flight ticket price

Airport check in counter staff rude, un-cooperative and deprived using loyalty program points.
Food in the business class poorer than most Economy class flights. No options to even get hot bread when asked and breakfast served as if eating in food court or hawker Centre.
Will never travel by Cathay to Europe again!
