Our second long distance trip with Cathay Pacific and it didn't disappoint.
From booking online, through to disembarking at the end, the process was seamless.
Staff at airports were knowledgeable, professional and super helpful.
Cabin crew, friendly and obliging.
Planes were quiet, clean and comfortable, with a good selection of movies.
(Prices were very reasonable too).
We could not find any negatives and Cathay will definitely be our first choice in airline, going forward.

DO NOT be fooled by their lifestyle program using your Asiamiles to exchange for products. The products they send to you has a pattern of defective and breakdown within a year with no warranty. When you contact them, they take you through the garden to waste more of your time and money only to say nothing they can do. Avoid them!

We recently flew with Cathay Pacific between Hong Kong and Johannesburg and had a good flight. Reservations were made through the CP website, booking was easy, flight check-in went smoothly, flights departed on time and were generally just fine. Seat comfort and leg space pretty good, in-flight entertainment fairly standard, service fast and very friendly. Meals good enough. We choose Indian veg and were happy with what was served.

Overall, this was a pretty good flight like those with Cathay Pacific in the past. Would be more than happy to use this airline again for future trips when they offer affordable flight options.

I recently flew with Cathay Pacific from Sydney to Nepal, with a 2-hour transit in Hong Kong. I chose this airline specifically for the short transit time. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing and frustrating.

The flight from Sydney to Hong Kong was delayed by 3 hours due to a technical error in the flight. This caused us to miss our connecting flight to Nepal. Despite repeatedly asking Cathay Pacific staff in Sydney about our flight connection, we were met with rudeness and unhelpful responses, being told to inquire in Hong Kong instead.

Upon arrival in Hong Kong, we were informed that our new itinerary involved a 22-hour wait in Hong Kong, followed by a flight to Bangkok with an additional 3-hour transit before finally reaching Nepal. For 22 hours, we were only given food vouchers worth 150 HKD, which is grossly inadequate. Initially, no sleeping arrangements were provided. It took nearly 2 hours of protest for the airline staff to give us access to the business lounge, which was still uncomfortable for sleeping.

Cathay Pacific claimed that they couldn’t arrange a hotel for us due to visa restrictions for Nepali passport holders. However, it was their responsibility to ensure we had a proper place to rest during such a long wait, especially since the delay was their fault. The lack of care and service was appalling.

After enduring 22 hours in Hong Kong and 3 more hours in Bangkok, we finally reached Nepal. This experience has left me extremely dissatisfied with Cathay Pacific’s service. Their handling of the situation was inadequate and unprofessional. I strongly advise others to consider these issues before booking with Cathay Pacific.

Worst airline we have ever boarded! Never again! We bought Premium Economy tickets. They never had the food they offer on the "menu". Waste of time having a menu that they can't service. We had no snacks. Every trip - both going and return was the same. I regretted why we paid extra for Premium Economy. I won't do it again. They don't clear the food trays in good time. You sit there with food tray for so long.
