“Nothing special when flying short distance”
Review of British Airways

Reviewed 4 weeks ago via mobile

This was a long awaited trip as I normally fly EDI-LON with Ryianair, was thinking this would make a big difference. But on such a short trip and bearing in mind the fligt was 100% booked, I can honestly say there was little if any difference between flying with the airline mentioned above and this BA flight other than the fact the gate was possitioned at a much better location. All the in flight services were the same e.i. not included in the fare.

Where do I start.

Both RTN flights delivered dreadful service and experience.

We flew a business party of 25 people (including customers) to a conference return.

Due to an IT glitch no one could check in using the machines, so we had to wait over 1 hour to check in manually.

Got on the 4.5 hour flight and they ran out of food before they got to us. We were all starving.

On the way back, same again, ran out of food to sell us and the flight was delayed so we were on the plane for over 5 hours!

Never again.

Why would you fly BA now? Ryan air and the budgets offer the same style of offering but with a much more efficient system... oh and food to actually sell!

The directors of BA need to go, they will kill the company and definitely are lost.

Flown many times with BA without any issues but this flight was just above their normal great service. Greetings, service and attention to detail by cabin staff and desk staff was excellent. Sheer class and I recommend them every time.

Came back with American Airlines due to earlier flight time choice. Big mistake, poor check-in experience overall, no greeting as we boarded and poor cabin service. It was like being in McDonald's. The staff had no class whatsoever! Ryan Air could do better than this lot!

Me and my wife travelled from Glasgow to lax with a stop over at Heathrow airport on 19th September 2018. Our 11.30 a.m flight was cancelled at Glasgow. We were rebooked on 9.30 p.m flight. Consequently we missed our connecting flight to Los Angeles.. We were assured by Glasgow customer service that we will be provided hotel accommodation by BA at Heathrow airport. On arrival, at 11.30 in the night, we had to search all over the airport for a representative. After finding one, in a small back office, the lady was totally unhelpful and rude and told us there is no hotel room available near the airport because of flight cancellations and we should make our own arrangements. We were finally able to locate a hotel room by 1 a.m. We never experienced such a terrible service before especially traveling business class..

We flue this route a number of times . This last flight was on September 4, 2018.
The usual aircraft for these route ( Austin- London-Austin ) is a Boeing 747, Jumbo Jet.
These are older planes and are in need to major update and repair. The plastic was getting off the wall in a few places close to my seat . The entertainment system is old , and dated. And the food was terrible on this flight. The service was fine and cabin configuration in business upper level is comfortable. I wish British Airlines will change aircraft on those flights to a newer, more up to date planes. The flights from Austin to London are always full capacity and thr tickets are not chip at all, and expectations are not met .
