Thanks for the upgrade BA. I got bumped up to first from business at the departure gate in Shanghai. My expectations were high. The food was great, and it was all very nice. Would I ever pay for this? Honestly, the seat and the first class cabin felt very much like business on Singapore Airlines or Cathay. I wanted to be more impressed but I just wasn't. Great service, lovely people, but no wow factor.

We were travelling economy, on a relatively short flight, and were happy to eat at the airport before departure. All passengers were on board early and the aircraft pulled back five minutes before time. Welcoming, efficient staff on board and we arrived at Gatwick before the scheduled time. We were somewhat bemused by the ground staff at Valencia who called all the passengers very early for Groups 1-3 and then, having sectioned off small pen like areas, made them stand waiting for some time before any boarding commenced. We were within those groups but elected to stay in the seating area until boarding commenced, others who had agreed to stand were not impressed. We can only think this was some local arrangement and it would not put us off travelling BA again.

Our flight was on time, sadly it was quite an old plane, with uncomfortable seating. The food was the worst we have encountered on a flight, bearing in mind this was a twelve hour flight. There was not a footrest to raise your feet, as a result I ended up with ankles the size of an elephant, at the end of 12 hours/ The service was not good. The entertainment was old, and didn't change, we flew out in January and returned in February of this year, and the entertainment was exactly the same, no new films were added. If this is an example of British Airways, I would rather fly with the alternatives. Just to add, we had to pay extra to book seats in advance, which on top of the price you pay for a flight is just outrageous.

The lounge at Dubai is quite small and gets filled up. The choice of drinks was also poor with no premium brands. The flight left and landed on time. The cabin was good and appeared recently refurbished. The food (special meal - vegetarian) was average. Better in the Economy class on the way out. The most disappointing part was the service on the flight. The attendants seemed to be in a rush to get the drinks and meals out rapidly and clear up. In the morning, the food is brought to you while you are still asleep, the tray being held above you while you get out of bed get yourself ready to eat. Why can't they wake you up first, ask if ready for food and then bring|?

A very old 747 with an antiquated entertainment system. Legroom was poor. Flight was full. Service however was good and the food (special meal for me-vegetarian) was excellent. Took off and landed on time. Shame about such an old plane when competing with Emirates.
