One bag checked free; a carry on and personal item. If you are within the allowances you will be OK. Little leg space, but better than United. Meals were small but enough. Plenty of drinks offered, but like other airlines, all of this comes after waiting a while and then you have to rush because they will come back fast to clean up after the meal.
The A/C was alright, plenty of movies to watch in your personal TV.
Hard to understand the announcements in English, or even in Spanish, because they speak extremely fast.

welp... where to begin... the plane we are to board was late... thus causing us to be late for departure... even just a 20 minute setback caused us to nearly miss our connecting flight in Chicago. Upon arriving in Chicago, we literally HAD to run from K gate down several halls to H gate... only to arrive to closed doors... rudely the attendant looks at us and says 'are you flying to Albuquerque?' we're looking at them with the "YEAH!" we boarded 10 minutes ago... she then proceeds to get on her walkie talkie... blah blah blah... they open the doors, we're allowed in. only to walk down the plane to someone in our seats. they had to move to their assigned seats so we could sit down, only to no available storage above for our carry on luggage. needless to say several above bins had to be re-opened to make room for us. Couple hours later we finally arrive home.

Our outbound flight was delayed because there was no crew. We were so late we missed our connection in Charlotte and spent the night in a cheap motel.

Did you know you can't get your luggage when the airline sticks you somewhere. We have a tooth brush the hotel gave us.

On the return, our flights were delayed at BWI and Charlotte so we finally got home at 3 AM. And, to top off this disastrous trip, my bags never made it back to MLB.

Ten bags on the whole flight and mine didn't make it. AA only had two hours to get my bag from the C to the E terminal.

We were flying 2 segments with American Airlines which led to a quite poor perception of this airline.
We are a group of 4 people, booking together several weeks in advance.

Few weeks after the original booking we were advised that our booked flights were no longer available (cancelled,...) and that we have been moved to a different flight with a different arrival time (the arrival time in Orlando was the main reason to choose American as we wanted to meet another party at Orlando airport). Expending quite a bit of effort it was possible to get on a flight having an acceptable arrival time in Orlando.
When we tried to do a Web CheckIn there were barely 4 seats available without extra cost and these dispersed all over the cabin. They even charged extra for some middle seats somewhere in the cabin (no idea why these seats could be considered "good" seats, especially when offered alone). When trying to check in the system didn't let us and asked us to do the ceck in at a counter - which imposed significant waiting times.
During check in we suddenly (I am quite confident we were not made aware during the booking process) had to pay extra for the checked in luggage.

The only good news is that they brought us to the destination roughly according to schedule. Especially those things that you would imagine to be easy to manage (We Check In, ...) were simply poor.

Apparently my plane was struck by lightening during the night. My flight was the first one leaving in the morning. It was 90 minutes before they really told us anything. Then, the plane had to be checked by a mechanic that was not on the premises so we wait for him. In the meantime they really tell us nothing. We did eventually leave on the plane and subsequently miss the connecting flights. The staff at the airport did help with booking new connecting flights. For me I missed one of the events I was flying for. So not real happy. And no compensation either.
