“BEWARE”
Review of Allegiant Air

Reviewed 6 April 2018

If you book anything with Allegiant and EVEN if you purchase their "Trip Flex," you can only get a refund in an Allegiant voucher. This applies with rental cars, hotels, anything. So if your plans change for any reason, you'd better have a plan to visit some other Allegiant destination.

Otherwise, it is a la carte everything. Their seats don't recline at all so not great for longer trips.

Airport and airline are unprofessional and disorganized. Took forever to get checked in and there were only 3 groups in line. TSA was snotty and rude and announced that TSA pre check was closed. Huh? My husbands flight on Easter Sunday was delayed 7 hours. Yes, 7 hours. We received a $50 voucher for a future flight we will not be using. Our flight is currently 20 minutes delayed but no plane has arrived yet so we will see. After paying for every carry on bag (and they only allow 40lb checked bags or you pay an overweight charge) this flight was not cheaper than other options into Tampa. What a shame bc we fly to this area several times a year and would love to have a reliable straight through. Will be going back to Tampa International.

Have taken this airline/Flight to and from several times in the last 10 years.
They used to have on board entertainment in the form of raffle tickets for grab bags. Very fun & the flight attendants enjoyed it also. But that all stopped when some people complained; were against what they perceived as gambling.
Saddened me. Now the flight attendants are just like robots. They smile, welcome and help you aboard. The seats are cramped, but you can pay for extra leg room. The roomiest seats are over the engine, which makes you responsible for all other passengers; but worth it & no extra cost.
They are the least expensive airline and I like it because It's non-stop.
They stopped taking cash for food & beverages.

Allegiant Air was on time, no delays. Great flight. Love the fact they fly between smaller airports without going to a large hub. Direct flights are great.

Left March 30 and returned April 4 from Ottawa to Ogdensburg to Orlando and back. The parking is close and $8 US per day. TSA security is really fast. The flight crew is friendly and the plane was "new". No complaints about the flights. On the way home April 4 the Ogdensburg airport (small airport) was fogged in so we had to abort the landing and went to Philly. the flight to Philly was 50 minutes. At Philly we gassed up and flew back to Ogdensburg and landed almost 3 hours late (no big deal). It was really windy and getting baggage took some time. Keep in mind you get what you pay for and the flights were very cheap. I would do it again but make sure you have vacation interruption insurance.
